10-4. I pulled my first shift last night and let me tell ya. If you can end up getting fired from this posistion, something is seriously, SERIOUSLY wrong. I ran 3 load's into the mill first one had to sit for 4 hour's, but hey, that's what we are for. The truck they tried to give me after I was sent on a run with someone to show me how it worked I was given a truck and the crappyist truck to boot. I started to climb in to turn the lights on to pretrip it and I stepped right back out. This truck had multipul light's out (tractor) no trailer lights at all (something wrong with tractor pigtail) audible air leaks out the azzhat, brake knob missing from the dash and no fire extinguisher. I'll be on the phone shortly with safety on that issue. All in all I've never had a job this easy.

LMAO..yep is a very easy job. I think most of the shuttle drivers leave because they get bored doing the same thing night after night.
For those that are interested, the PROPOSED HOS has been released on FMCSA website: http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regu...-programs/rule_making_details.aspx?ruleid=325

As usual, our government is bowing down to special intrest groups. Going to take a degree in mathmatics just to attempt to stay legal with this bunch of hogwash rules.

Yea, I was told that and some times the mill shutting down laying off the drivers for a day or two up to a week or better at a time. I was forwarned about it but playing my cards right money wise you can actually use it as a "vacation" time to lounge and relax and not have any worries about being short on next months bill's. Build it back up when you go back so it will be there when it happens again next time.

I seriously doubt that was the reason. I have delivered to Slack and Mansfield mill at least 20 times between the two and I see the Tango guys all the time and I would say I have seen alot more black drivers than white ones.

I dont think he was saying they are that R word it think he was saying the discriminated his work history. Because if they are they must think i'm caucasian cause they treat me real good. I been at home since the 3rd and not going back out til the 3rd of next month. When I am running I get plenty of miles as many as I want or more than I want sometimes. Cant tell to much it might come back and bite me. The only thing I don't like about Tango is that 85% of the loads put me a little under or over gross but heck my empty weight is 36,240 with a half tank but thing are looking up they have been getting a lot of new accounts with lighter loads last few weeks I worked I pulled a lot of loads 13K or less. I hate the fact that I will be leaving in a month or so (going Independent) but if thing don't work out on the Independent side they would be my first choice to go back to but I doubt they would take me back because my truck weight I have had my share of problems with customers had them go off on me and I have went off on them The girl at the mill in sumter told me they wans't taking anything off the trailer and I was grossing over 82K I told her they can take some or all she told me I was going to have to take it like it was and she told with a attitude that broke the camel back. I had a flash back and what I said to her I cant say on here but I just knew I was going to have to go to Shreveport and have a little talk. The night dispatcher called me and asked if I was having a problem I told him what was going on he told me to give him 15 min and in about 10 the trailer started shaking he called me back told me they was taking 2 skids off and not to start no more trouble and started laughing but you know I went back in there with a smile on my face and no one ever said anything else about it but I haven't been there since then that was over 4 months ago

lol to above comments. I'm off work. I got a call last night right as I got to the mill with my first load saying they weren't taking anymore paper so I was turned around and sent back to the yard. Was told I could stay on the clock to complete a full 4 hours or just clock out and go home. There was nothign to do there, not even a broom to push so I clocked out and left after shootin' the #### with some of the guy's. Hopefully the mill will be back in full swing Sunday after Christmas is over with and all. Merry Christmas guy's.

Something wrong there. There aren't any black driver's on night shift unless they bring one in and I'm not sure about day shift. Only black guy's I know of all work in the warehouse which is what the Slack yard is. Not a mill. No pun, just thought I would clairify that.
