i remember when i was younger that my dad used to have a reefer for use at a chocolate factory in a town nearby and the shipper needed the trailer at his docks to get unloaded for three days. It was a bad area so he had had fuel cap locks cause he ran dual tanks, king pin lock, and this huge weird looking box thing he got custom made to go over the gladhands and it was my duty to grab this jar of vaseline and dip the key and slip it inside the lock i use some vaseline on my doors at home to keep them from freezing works great . He got real annoyed when i told them why not make a cage for the trailer and put an electric fence around it and he always replied that sure if a thief wanted the trailer he would get it but when its 2o degrees out you dont want to be out

SEND THESE TIPS TO YOUR COLD WEATHER FRIEND"S
> Helpful Hints For Winter
>
> Keep your headlights clear with car wax! Just wipe ordinary car wax on your headlights. It contains special water repellents that will prevent that messy mixture from accumulating on your lights - lasts 6 weeks.
>
> Squeak-proof your wipers with rubbing alcohol! Wipe the wipers with a cloth saturated with rubbing alcohol or ammonia. This one trick can make badly streaking & squeaking wipers change to near perfect silence & clarity
>
> Ice-proof your windows with vinegar! Frost on it's way? Just fill a spray bottle with three parts vinegar to one part water & spritz it on all your windows at night. In the morning, they'll be clear of icy mess. Vinegar contains acetic acid, which raises the melting point of water---preventing water from freezing!
>
> Prevent car doors from freezing shut with cooking spray! Spritz cooking oil on the rubber seals around car doors & rub it in with a paper towel The cooking spray prevents water from melting into the rubber
>
>
> Fog-proof your windshield with shaving cream! Spray some shaving cream on the inside of your windshield & wipe if off with paper towels. Shaving cream has many of the same ingredients found in commercial defoggers.
>
>
> De-ice your lock in seconds with hand sanitizer! Just put some hand sanitizer gel on the key & the lock & the problems solved!Don2WS and Native Dancer Thank this. -

No problem. I've tried the shaving cream trick. Worked great, truck smelled like a lime, and no fogged up windows. Not a bad smell to have.
I have a spray bottle for the frost problem in the truck ready to use. Only problem is no frost so far. A friend of mine works for a bus company and these are some of their tricks in winter. Let me know how it works out for you. Going to try the wiper fix also.
