stinking exhaust?

    what is it, you can be driving all day and be passed by 50 trucks and you get behind a truck that has unbearable exhaust coming out of the stacks. is it the engine or fuel or what? :biggrin_25513:

    It could be an old mechanical motor, they have a very distinct smell. I kinda like the smell of them though. It could be a catalytic converter like when an overloaded SUV passes you doing 90, they will stink real bad.

    there are old Kamaz trucks on road here... the worse diesel engine smell... OMG... these trucks are 35+ years old and still run!

    Onece I saw T34 tank on battal show. what a smell of very big diesel engine!!! they killed nazy with smell!!! it was terrible!

    Nothin beats being behind one of those california clean idle trucks while it's 'regenerating'...

    sound like that truck had a bad injector (mechanical) my old FLD used to do that all them time :D

    Maybe it's not the truck. Have you looked at some of the "THINGS" that people call truck drivers now days?They might just have their windows down!

    i walked out of love's last night, and the truck that was sitting at the first fuel pump had a steady stream of gray blackish smoke coming out of a area just below the sleeper and just above the fuel tank, and nobody seemed to alarmed by it? was that the new system every one is talking about? it looked like more like a hazard than something to promote clean air.:biggrin_25513:
