I've been a truck driver since 2005. I've been with a total of 3 companies now. I was with Marten the longest, but this good company became swift with reefers towards the end of 2008 and into 2009. They never went back to being good. de Boer was only a three month stint, I was desperate for a job, and they'll take any warm body they can get their hands on.
Finally, I've found my home. I now drive for Roehl. My first truck is older (typical trucking move, so no harm no foul) but RUNS! No bugs, no hassles, no gross surprises from the previous driver. I drove 2,524 miles in my first week, would have been more I'll bet if weather would have cooperated (killer midwest snowstorm), and got paid for 2500 of them! LESS than 1% off! AMAZING! They're paying me MORE per mile than Marten or de Boer, paying for MORE of the miles (Marten and de Boer pay household movers guide miles), and they're not ramming perdiem down my throat like Marten. Granted, I'm in my first month, but so far they're proving themselves to be a TOP NOTCH outfit! I love it here!
I wish I didn't have to say "so far" but I'm alittle jaded after my last two jobs.

Glad your happy. I always have a honeymoon period of 90 days when I work for a new company. Are you pulling a box or flatbed? Good luck and keep us updated.

Sounds like a great company. I read quite a bit about the company and believe me, if they were hiring in the Northwest, I would be first in line with an application. Take care and have fun!!

Welcome aboard GBZ. I have only been here since April but they are treating me very well thus far. Continued good fortune.

Its good to see another positive thread.

Talk to me about their trucks. They look like short hoods, which would indicate small engines.
What do they have for engines?
What HP are they set at?
What are the typical transmissions?
Are they basic trucks or decently spec'ed?
Thanks! -
