If you have your own authority any of the load boards will have a "power only" section.
If you just want to run local, most of the BIG otr companys have shuttle drivers/tractors that move trailers around the big cities.

Way back when I lived in Ft. Worth I ran containers from the port in Houston to customs at DFW, then emptys back to the port. Wasn't a bad gig for awhile.

edit...if AZTEC still makes trailers in Mansfield ya might contact them for delivering new trailers across the country.

like twolane said if you have your own authority, check with Great Dane Trailers in Wayne Ne. (402)375-5500 & ask for Gina McDonald, she may help you. as a part-time security guard i see a lot of O/O shuttling trailers out of their.

Some don't actually pay you to shuttle a trailer but will allow you to use it to haul a load assuming you get it to it's final destination in a set time damage free.

We bought a bottom dump trailer in Texas and looked for a trailer to take down (from Ohio). One "power only" load was a new van trailer that was going to FL I believe and that was their deal. Use the trailer free just get it to FL in 2 days. Ended up not being worth it.

I would call trailer dealers. I know they shuffle a lot of grain hoppers from Nebraska, Iowa ect to Ohio and ship flats back west. No idea if it pays anything.

i think the whole "i'm not looking to get rich/you can't get rich from trucking etc." is the wrong mindet.

i can't comment on the empty trailer thing---yet. But it's probably not the way to go.

You can't get rich from trucking? You can't get rich without it either.
