Sorry about the crazy question - but when you say Maverick didnt offer temp/control are you refering to while your on idle time? I am looking into Maverick and Prime both and am trying to make a decision. Any help would be apreciated.

After a few months I decided to read this post again, to only find myself making another comment. Guys I am really being honest in what I've said. I would highly recommend finding a driver in your area that drives for TMC before you choose them if your looking for a driving job. Your home time and load availability does depend on the area you live in, and where they can get you to and get you back home. It also depends on your dispatcher. Find a local TMC driver and talk to him to see his experience with them.
My experience was absolutely terrible. Straight outta school, that shiny black truck GOT ME! lol I live about 1 hr north of Nashville, TN. I prob. see 20 TMC trucks per week loading out of a plant 1 mile from my house. Just because you see this doesn't mean you will be loading out of there, in fact when I ask TMC about this plant/facility they told me they had never heard of it or any other loads coming in or out of my town. Hmmm....
Well flip back a page or two to see my last post and read up on it. I am not the lazy guy. I tarped most loads in an 35mins-1hr, I did not spend maybe 1 hr per day at most at a truck stop to take a shower and grab a drink or some food.
I was simply the guy that loved that truck and the company when I started there. During the first week of school I spent about $150 on company shirts and stuff like that, I thought TMC was going to be the best thing that happend to me.
BOY WAS I WRONG!
Check with a local TMC driver to see his experience in your lacation before you go to work for them, & dont forget to flip back a couple pages to see my other post on this topic. It's very very true and a hell of a reality check. -
Well this is the way dispatch tried to run the trucks. start of the week they would have you unload in the am hours, then generally sit for 1-2hr before dispatching you then dh 100-150 mi to p/u next load & that generally took a few hrs to get loaded because of line of trucks then tarping. Dispatch would have you go 600+mi to del next load but wanted you there the night before. They expect you to run like this and put 5 load a wk on the truck but you would only load/unld mon-fri,at the same time they wanted you to stop and get truck washed every week mandatory rain or shine. I believe that is far reaching goal with a 14hr clock going.

thats what i was saying they run the dog s*** out of you all week and then keep you away from home for weeks at a time just be truthful to the drivers and they wont get so pissed like prime said i might not get home at all during training so im all ready for that because they were up front with me thats my two cents be honest with people not fake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
That's right. just be honest & let the driver make a decision to come or not. I the company is honest with me with what they do I might not like some things but I can accept them or not come. I don't like finding out after the fact that ticks me off. Once a company lies to me I can't trust them.

(X meat hauler) i worked at TMC for one year on a bet from my best friend that being an x-owner opp that i couldnt last there and go by there rules. i lasted the whole year (365 days) to the day it was the most fun and i learned so much that i didnt know about flat bedding. wish i would of pulled one the first 20 yrs trucking i dont think i would of pulled any other trl if i did so. TMC took care of us very well if you had what they were looking for. i took a cam with me and taped my loads because alot of us liked to see who could put on our chains straps and tarps and look the best out there.i still have the tapes and watch them ever now and then even now that im not there anymore. it was hard work but i felt like i was back in a circus wagon(that was a long time ago 1974) PROUD
