Just got back from my first week of training. We went to Chicago to deliver some gray bar and we took a coil to Jackson MS. So far just as I expected. Waking up early in the morning to start the day. We picked up another coil in Jackson and was supposed to go to Indiana, but our truck had some Check Engine Light that wouldn't come off, so we took it to Madison IL to get it checked. I got home yesterday and will be enjoying a nice 4 day weekend. Happy New Year to Everybody and be safe out there.

That's nice work Jim. Congrats and have much of luck.

happy new years all. I am glad that your training is going well.

I had been going up and starting the truck every day except two. On those days when I opened the door, the low battery alarm was sounding. The last time, Friday morning, it would not start. When I got home today, I went by and tried to jump it but to no avail.
I placed a call and in an hour, it was up and running.
While I was at my Dad's I got a call from Little Rock asking me if I would be willing to come back a day early and pick up a load in Columbus at Columbus Coatings and deliver it to Talladega AL. I said sure.
So I will be leaving home around 1430 on Sunday and delivering it on Monday at 17:00
I plan of driving Sunday Night about half way to Sonora Ky and stop at the Pilot there. It is so large, I know that I will be able to find a spot to park for the night.
Hope everyone here has a Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing you all down the road next year!
God Bless! -
Forgot to mention that someone stole half of my bungies! Will need to lock them in the cab from now on!

Talladega...... that sucks! (lol!) last time I was there, it only took em' 10 hours to unload me.
-
I have never been there before so late in the day. In fact I have never unloaded anywhere that late in the day before. The real problem will be finding a place to spend the night. You used to be able to just stay back where they park their trucks, but since they are doing that extension I do not think you can do it any more. There is a small pilot not too far from there, but my fear is that it will be filled up. I may be able to stay right off of the exit before CR 5 at one of those small filling stations. I will just have to check it out. I seriously doubt if I will get another load until the next morning. I usually get sent over to Southland Pipe in Birmingham.
As I always say, it will be an adventure.
