if you only needed 2 million then he had old equipment. WHich most the smaller companies do. We are the second largest in the country and most our trailers are fairly new. A new pet/ct scanner can run 4million.
I know we have some local moves that equal about 170 to 200 miles and we charge them something like $500 per move and that is 5 days a week. it keeps one driver busy for the week. Our otr stuff we charge around $2.25 per mile plus a 19% fuel surcharge. And we charge round trip. SO like a few weeks ago I pelled an MRI to Oregon which was like 2200 miles out there so we charged them for 4400 miles. Plus on the way back we were bobtailing so I stoped of in Salt Lake and picked up a new utility trailer and transported it to MAdison for and extra $1 per mile. SO in all we made somewhere around $13500 gross for the trip.

I know I made like $3500 in drivers wages that week so they still had a nice $10k ater paying me. Plus we get a nice fuel discount from ryder but I still bought a ton of fuel. Probably burned almost 1000 gallons. That truck I'm driving is a fuel hog

I delivered an expensive shipment today. It came from Taco Communications in Toronto ON, going to Annapolis MD. These were four crates, 2' by 2' by 13' long, 300 lbs apiece. I believe the freight charges were around $666 with a fuel surcharge of about $32.
