What they said... we had several people sent home for blood pressure way to high and a few for not having the proper paperwork for their meds. If you have anything you think might be a problem call and ask in advance and CYA.

Lol, funny thing I had a nurse test it before I left home and it was 120/60, I went in 1st day for DOT Physical in Memphis my BP was 150/80 which is borderline hypertension. The Practitioner who did the medical screenings toward the end said it was probably a case of nerves. They had the blood mobile come to the classroom one morning while we we're there so I offered to donate blood my BP was 120/60 again. :p

I would take a note from the doctor explaining that you have no restrictions concerning the collar bone surgery. Better to be ready just in case they want assurances. It could save you a lot of time and headaches.

That is called "white coat hypertension." My BP will do the same thing. Normally it is 120/84-130/88, but a few times when in the clinic, it will go up over 140/90.

they're always looking for ways to make a few more bucks. Probably brought up before in another thread/forum...but the other day i got a copy of my latest R/O....they tell me it was from back when i had my first problem with my starter. (waiting for my DM to come in on the 3rd so i can show its a B.S. work order, cause i had two R/Os for the same problem go thru within a week of having the first problem. One for Russ' trailer service (the guy who didn't know Dick...er....JACK....sorry its catching on) and the other for an actual semi truck wrecker. this latest R/O says in remarks "quoted about $200"...then the bill i got was $230.00. Kinda funny how its a nice round figure, isnt it? I think what Swift does, they set up the on road call, have the service bill them, then in turn bill the driver. So the service might send in a bill to swift for $180, then turn around and bill the driver $230....presto...they just made $50.

Yeah, probably will be another "look Dick, you dont know Dick" posts soon to follow telling me this is another reason i wont make it as a L/O. But don't you learn by doing anyway? Next time i have a problem, i'll notify on-road...but instruct them not to call for help. Since its going to come out of my pocket, it might as well come out of my pocket right there. so then i know exactly how much it will be....and have it paid for right there.

Lol, what this has to do with DOT Physical is any ones guess but, ok Dick. So you think Swift is draining you dry via that Maintenance account? I can see how that might raise your blood pressure, did they give you the .... probe too unlubed? Sorry I cannot resist the oh so obvious softball you lobbed out there for someone to put outta the park. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the Trainee with your t-shirt on.

Actually I suggest if you can get a letter from the doctor to do so. The idea that all they do is have you cough and check your BP is quite incorrect. Depending upon what the problem with your collar bone was, they may very well require you to either produce documentation stating it's corrected and you aren't limited in your physical activity or if you can't produce that you'll be required to see a physician and be evaluated. That and all tests/xrays/scans will be done at your expense.

They didn't lift sacks/cough when I did my physical, first one ever not to. Probably the easiest physical I ever had.
