    3700+ Employees
    1300+ Company Owned Tractors
    2200+ Owner/Operator Tractors
Countless driver trainees cycled through annually

And they're going to pick you out of the herd, because you're special!

What about Fleece/Operators? You didn't mention them!
Unless you mistakenly lumped them in with Owner/Operators which would obviously be a mistake since a Fleece/Operator is not an Owner/Operator by any stretch of the imagination!

A Fleese/Operator is just a company driver that's dumb enough to make the payments on a truck that he'll never own, and if by some chance he does make it to the end and pay the ridiculous ballon payment at the end he will have paid almost double what the truck is worth.

Yeah, I don't know where those poor souls fit in these numbers; they come from this report. The accountants at those outfits will find a way to make the fleece-to-owners invisible if it's to the company's benefit - it looks nice when there's a good positive revenue stream, and the associated capital liability is on some other poor schmuck's ledger.

Read some of the responses to my post. England has five schools. Illinois, Dallas, Mira Loma, Burns Harbor and Salt Lake. I believe I said average. Different schools have different recruitment totals at different periods of the year. "As many as" 500 students start every week. That is an overall average. Over half drop out the first day.
Many of you are correct. Many of the classes are smaller in size. Many classes have different graduating totals. How many of these students actually complete phase 1 and phase 2? Man, I was just a driver and this is what I've seen. Through out the week there are a MAXIMUM of 40- 50 people per week going company or Leasing trucks between Burns Harbor and Salt Lake.
My class in Mira Loma started at 142 students. The class graduated 37. The class before me draduated just 4. The class after me graduated 22. That was two years ago. At that time, England had 4 schools. Dallas was eventually closed. Dallas has been opened again, along with illinois.
When I leased my truck, there was a delay at salt lake waiting for trucks to come in. While I was there, "ABOUT" 40 people were upgrading. Most were leasing. Those that were going company were placed on a waiting list.
The point is, I am tring to give information based on my experience and what I have seen with the intent to help. We all have different experiences here. Some of us stay longer than others. Some drivers are with England for years. Good for them. Some are with England for days or weeks. Good for them. For those of you that don't like what I have said, good for you. Good luck out there but the overall numbers are staggering... Even for those of you that think I wasn't making sense or Im a recruiter or Im full of...

Aftershock...what determination. I bet you feel great about yourself after that one... As earlier stated..BRAVO! This is basically all you do, I've seen you di it so many times. Come in after every thread and comment on every statement like your a no it all. Its called discussion bro. that's how people "discuss" things to come to an answer...The one thing that I never heard that kinda changed my mind for a min is when I was told they will tell you from the get go you have to lease or else be fired... Now that ruins my plans on doing 6 months and getting out because I wont lease.. Is this the truth? Who the hell knows. I do have a suggestion for you, why not humble yourself and give some good advice before trying to make someone feel stupid. I know it wont make you feel like a king afterwords....but it may help.

I must say that I thoroughly enjoy Aftershock's posts, and that's all I have to say about that. If his post offended you... Then perhaps you need to take a good look at yourself. He said NOTHING untrue.

    AfterShock and Lilbit Thank this.

Oh, really? I have a close friend who, along with her husband, was a lease operator. They purchased a brand new tractor for lease payments of $107,500 plus a balloon payment of $37,500. How much does it cost to buy a tractor, as an individual consumer, including interest? Half of that? I want to see this $60,000 tractor...where do I get one?

Don't forget to include the tax advantage of leasing vs. purchasing, and the depreciation of the tractor after it is purchased. I assume you have hired a good accounting firm that will be willing to explain this to you.

    1. Dude, Shocky has forgotten more about trucking than you will EVER know.
    2. You're borderline out of control thinking that shocky was ranting or a crack head.
    3. With the attitude you have displayed here with this post and the prior one you'll go real far in this industry ....NOT
    4. Put your pride in your backpocket where it belongs until you log a few hundred thousand miles.

that is a rant, Shocky gave you a well thought out reply to many of your posts. get over it will ya:biggrin_25510:
