You get 4 days a month HT. Gotta put in for 8 days b4. Can do it all at once or do 2 weeks out and 2 days at home. You'll make more miles tho if you stay out for 4 weeks and more miles ='s more money.

Sounds like the company went downhill ever since Johnny gave it up!
-
how many realistic miles can be expected from transam these days for a company driver
-
Yearly average, not counting your 1st 6 mos, would probably be around 2700 a week.

Hey panhandle, there is life after TA!
I drove for transam a little over 3 years and left in July. My dispatcher, Colby, did his best but the miles just weren't there. Colby was an awesome fleet manager, couldn't asked for a better human being. I think I'm with my dream company now. Home on weekends (leave Monday around 9am and home Friday before noon), steady 750 dollar weekly check, trucks run 70, and they must be washed weekly, all tractors are 2009 or newer KW 660, 386 Petes, Cascadias and ProStar Premiums (what i have) with O/O specs and their average life is 3 years, samething goes for the trailers. and I'm still in Florida! Couldn't be happier. For the newbies, TA is a good company to begin with and get your experience. I will warn you, do not lease on. I saw many drivers beginning their career and leasing only to turn the truck in 3 months later because they can't make any money. Do your year and move on, it's all TA is good for anymore. Again, there is life after TA! -
Soooo, who'd you go with?

my husband is an lease /op for trans am how the hell do we get out of this nightmare we are losing our ##### to put it nicely we are in Pa and no idea how or which way to turn

As I understand it, its a walk away lease. Put a msg on the QC and give them your 2 weeks notice. Make sure you have the money to get home and try to get the trk unloaded 1st, if you have a bunch of personal stuff in it. If you can't, be prepared to rent a small U Haul. Pretty hard to rent a car anymore for 1 way trips.

The trucking industry is going down hill fast. It is such a shame. It is hard to tell which companies are decent anymore where you can make a good wage and home time and ones that care. I love driving a truck. I can't image doing anything else. I mean if I could find an OTR job that paid good with a company that cared and let me do my job I would still be out there because I love to drive. Don't get me wrong I like the job I have now with doing local but you just don't get the drive time like you do with OTR. You are more of a lumper than a driver doing local driving.

i was at trans am for a while and i agree i wish all dm's where like colby but there lease is just not worth it.. if u train for them and lease u can make it getting double miles. When i leased i made money there but i stayed out 6 weeks at a time and only went home on the last and first day of a pay period so i would only miss two days on either side of it, but when i started training for them i was pulling in good checks, worst training check i can rem was 1100 bring home i had some weeks i made 2k. but that also depended on the student
