Thursday afternoon, I told my boss I was leaking air. At first we thought it was the air assist for my clutch, turned out it was a crack in one of my air tanks. They tried to JB Weld it, Sunday night I go into work, fire the truck up to head for Alb., let it build up air pressure and warm up while I'm finishing my pre-trip. Sitting in the drivers seat doing paperwork, I hear a boom, the whole truck rocks, and I'm dumping air. Open my door and it's right below me, get out, there's a 3" split in my forward (I have 3) airtank, right where they tried to JB Weld. So now I'm sitting at home while they try and get a new airtank so maybe I can make some money this week.

#### man........That totally bites man

Is that industry standard? To put JB Weld on an air tank crack? And how would that do in a DOT check? Just curious.
I'm glad it blew away from you. It could have been ugly otherwise. -
That's what I was thinking but I didn't want to rub salt in the wound
-
I wonder if I can get them to work on my scuba tanks

Glad to hear you didn't get hurt, the outcome could have been much worse...........
-
hmm what they didnt have any duct tape to try and fix it with?
-
Sorry Canuck but that was the fix at the company I used to work for

Striker is your foreman Named Dan by chance. I had a foreman that never could figure out that Drivers knew when something was wrong with their Trucks. He was the same person that Swore that I was a dumb Driver who could not figure out anything in my truck. Yet I was the one screaming there was something wrong in the Reman rear end they had put in my truck from the time it was Installed til it EXPLODED in West Des Monies. When you take out the Axle Shafts all four of them the Thru Shaft Drive shaft that inter connects the reat rends Plus Put the Ring Gear Thru the Housing of the Differential at speed and you had been screaming about it for 4 weeks who is the IDIOT in the shop.
What caused all that carnage that night the Pinion Bearing had been to Tight you know tolerances mean something in rear ends and 1 thousandth of an inch to tight makes one HELL OF A DIFFERANCE on a bearing.
What I would do with 3 air tanks is bypass the cracked on by removing it for the time being since you have 2 others and while your waiting on the new tank to get there get moving down the road. DOT requirement is a Primary and Secondary tank. You still are in Speck. -
should of used Krazy glue instead.
