A Scania with a 620V8 and and 18 speed. Would kick the butt of anything on this continent. They have tons of room, light, short wb, and have more power than anyone knows what to do with.

and no dealer support so when you break down who you gonna call ?
-
Go to Volvo. The other major components are pretty much the same. Only they have been using disk brakes on tractors for years rather than sticking to drums.

any advice?

T600 OR CENTURY for flatbed or something else then what?
-
Without a cat???!!! I wont buy another truck unless it has a cat under hood. Buy 1 with a cat get a PDI tune in it you will have truck that will get as good mpg's and out pull anything out there. They dont ingest there own wast(egr) like the rest do. They say parts are cheaper if its not a cat. I own a cat and a ISX so far that has not been the case. I have had my 06 W9 with the cat since new. It has never been in the shop overnight and with the exception of a ruptured hose never broke down. The ISX is in the shop right now will cost me over a grand to get it out tomorrow to replace a part thats not even on a cat. If it were me and I was going otr I would get a T600 with a pre dpf cat. But thats me I like the KW interior. You might not.
IMO buy a truck you like the inside of, even if its a coe(the new ones dont ride that bad). Thats where you spend the most time. Cause in the end they all break down.josh.c Thanks this. -
what year cat or detroit or cummins is good, in this case, what year cat they started to install dpf on?
-
Plus, from my research, detroits have a cheaper price tag when it comes to repairs, the repairs are quicker and cheaper, and these engines are roughly in the same ball park longevity wise- might drink couple of courts of oil, may be.. Correct?
Cummins - N14 are gone in 2002-2003, So, there is nothing close to its reliability for the replacement in the cummins side?
Detroit lovers- !!! which detroit and why you like em? do these engine have similar issues as ISX cummins junk? Whch detroits are good? may be in a century or a kw w 13spd tranny.? -
Scania are great trucks if there is support for them. will most likely out pull cats-detroits-cummins combined. lol. But, there is no support for the truck in the states.
kind of stupid though. Great truck with great power plant and no market here in the states.

here is something big 3, now 2 power plants in USA can't do, stock. :
