One thing I have noticed when looking online at several companies is that a lot of these violations can & should be prevented. On equipment issues, the ones I noticed the most were for lights on trk and/or trls. The others I noticed a lot was for low tread on tires. These are easily taken care of if driver/company would fix. As far as drivers #'s are concerned the great majority of violations are speeding and seat belt violations. There is No Excuse for these under any circumstance. Drivers need to be more vigilant about their license or they will no longer be employed in this business.

Huh I never made the connection Mr. Obvious.
Is it that all there is to really?
Man this trucking stuff is easier than I have been doing all these years!!!!
Thank you for showing me the light !!
Just busting your chops in case it wasn't obvious

I guess you will find out.
I did a pre trip on the truck. Everything worked. No lights out. No tire problems.
Just before the scale, I picked up a screw in the trailer tire and it was low. Got OOS to get that fixed and a level 1.
Guess what. During the level 1 a light was out on the top of the trailer.
No ladder available, even if I had one, it was noted on the inspection.
And yet, you say there is no reason?

I've had a daytime running light burn out on me twice within about a month. Both times at the Kamloops West scale. Both times, pulled in, checked my books, wrote a warning, I walked out, grabbed my spare bulbs, swapped BOTH, got the officer to sign off. They were really nice about it. Problem is, BOTH times the bulb burnt out under way. Heck I stopped in Revelstoke and took a break both times. Both times did a full load check and checked everything over.
Maybe I need to stop taking a break in Revelstoke? -
These big companys asked for it and now they got it by paying drivers crap wages and the revolving door of new people coming and going. Good drivers move on to greener pastures, leaving newbees who don't know how (or don't care) to do pre and post trip inspections. The big companys are going to have to start paying more to keep there good drivers or they will be in a world of hurt. They will do this kicking and screaming all the way.

You bring up a good point.I hope this ends up hurting the carriers as much as it does us.
