hello my name is loopy, i just started driving a truck about 5 months ago. i am 21 years old and always wanted to be a otr truck driver ever since i was 2. i applied to the company i am working for now (Witte Bros) the week i turned 21. so far i love it and not once have i second guessed it is what i want to do. im not doing it to make money and im not just a steering wheel holder im not scared to get dirty and work hard and fix the truck when im on the road. im not the "well im not getting paid to be a mechanic" types. i think a few reasons why i love it so much is i have no bills, no kids, no wife, no gf, no friends, i am not social, no house or apt, i am super cheap and simple, and i just love driving a truck, jamming gears, backing up, staying in a different town every night, and going slow up hills. there is really nothing i dont like aside from most shippers are rude and 4 wheelers cutting you off then slamming on their brakes. i try to learn as much as i can every day about truck driving and tring to be the best truck driver i can be. i drive an 07 volvo which i like and am lowering next week im thinking about 4 inches. about the only thing i like other than truck driving now at this stage in life is girls and cars and i see plenty of both on the road. thats about it yall keep the wheels turning and the diesel buring.

Welcome. You're exactly what most trucking companies are looking for. Once they find out you don't care about any pay, don't want any home time, have no wife or kid hassles, and love getting greasy for free..they'll be beating your door down lol.

going to maryland tommorow morn i dont like the northeast. but i love the south.

i was at a shipper yesterday in WI it was at this farm in the middle of nowhere. the lot was all ice, and the dock/ wharehouse was in a barn. anyway, long story short i was outside of my truck then the forklift went in and my truck slid forward 15 feet and was 5 feet from hitting the barn in front of me. their dock plate fell off.

Sounds familiar, only the barn dock was in Upstate NY... 5 months in, and you wanna lower a Volvo? Just askin'...:biggrin_25523: Might as well put chrome on it too, like lipstick on a pig.
