When I first googled Henderson I realized there was a lot other trucking companies by similar names. I wonder if people are getting them confused.
My only complaint from orientation (so far) is the pay process. Whether you do direct deposit or not, your first 2-3 checks get mailed home. Neither I nor any other drivers were notified of this so that we could make appropriate arrangements before coming to orientation. This here is a very big deal for someone who doesn't have spouse or family back home to take care of it. This is going to be a very difficult first couple of weeks for a few of us.

Thanks for the heads up on this. If approved, then will have to make some arrangements to have someone at home get my checks and deposit them for me.
If you get a chance to look inside a new 2011 Cascadia, let me know how it looks. Also, if you can, can you ask how long they let a L/P dirver run before they start to deduct the payments -
I don't know about others, but I work for that Henderson, and so does Mike. Been there since September of 2008.
Also, IL_truckergal, with your pretty close proximity to the yard, you should be able to swing by your house without a problem to get those checks. I run to Chicago and back frequently, so I am sure you will have a chance to get your pay taken care of. Is there a way to have them mailed to a friends house? I would check on that if I was you. I am widowed with no one at home too, and it is hard to take care of it all at times.
Good luck to you.... -
I know they have company drivers left because my dad is one. He's on a dedicated route, so it's a little different. A couple years ago they pulled in a bunch of company solo and made em either team or lease. Dad's dispatcher told him that about a week after it happened. I think though they were the lower group of solo's because a lot didn't have to make that choice. I think it was their was of purging some of the low earners, but I don't know.
I just filled out an app with them yesterday. I worked for them for a year and a half on a dedicated run and I liked them a lot. I am applying for a slip-seat position. That way I will be in there if a dedicated comes open. I only live like 25 miles from Salem so it won't be an issue to go over and get a truck. I'm a little worried though if they move most the operation to Caseyville that I'll have to drive over there. We will see I guess. Dad's dispatcher said dispatch is staying in Salem but the brokerage is going to Caseyville. I know in the last 5 years the brokerage has about outgrown the rest of it they are so busy.
I know they are still going pretty big guns from what I can tell. About a month ago I went by Freightliner in Troy and there were at least 15 new Henderson trucks with the side skirts. I think all of em said owned by Kubrick Enterprises though. That's a whole different story I won't get into now. Good news is I'm pretty sure all trucks that say Kubrick are company trucks, not lease op trucks. Maybe they are getting away from lease op? I don't know.
Stay safe out there, I might be back in a Henderson truck before you know it! -
Well, I was turned down for the their l/p program. Reason, 3 jobs in 3 years, even though one of the jobs was for 2 years. One of the jobs was Minstar, which has been talked about here, and they seemed not to care. Got the impression that I shoud have stayed with one of them, even though that one at two years was having a large problem between Ops/Safety. Safety would say that they would back you, and then they would listen to Ops. Have fun out there. Still looking. He even stated to me that I should just stay where I am now and ride it out. 2000/mi wk, been this way for 4 months now, even though stay out 3 weeks.

Wow I figured most companies would be chomping at the bit to get a l/p driver!
Good luck in finding what you want out there driver. Keep looking, tons of companies out there. -

sorry about not getting back that fast, I am too cheap to pay for Internet access. There is the yard in Tracy, CA but that is the only one I know. It's on the west side of town, another trucking companies lot.
