I've been following the threads for a little while and posting for the first time. I got a call from recruiter a little bit ago and found out I'm leaving Friday for SLC. It's been fun following everyone on here and looking forward to joining you all.

Congrats to everyone that passed today. Now the real fun begins. When you get out into the yard listen to the instructors. They will tell you everything you need to know to get your CDL. One thing that I can not stress enough 1 is listen and 2 is don't over steer. That was a big issue for me. In the Volvo's its really easy to steer too much and miss your mark. My truck not so much of a problem now but I still will over steer. I made it into my spot tonight with only 1 pull up I'm giddy like a school kid.

Welcome to the road...soon! Make sure you have everything in order before you leave home. The money and the SS card, your CERTIFIED birth certificate and current drivers' license are vital to you staying here and getting your training. If you have any health issues, see your doctor if you can and get things under control before you arrive. One gentleman had two broken ribs and was sent home the first day after taking the Work Well test and then had his blood pressure taken. It was through the roof and he couldn't figure out why!! Be sure you read the requirements and can stay. I am not trying to discourage you at all, I would just hate to see that look on anyone else's face. It has been a busy, but doable schedule and I'm sure you will fit right in. Congrats!

Now for my vent of the day.............

When I picked up my load yesterday they didn't give me a delivery time. So I started at 5am ok finally gave me a delivery time for 8am tomorrow. Wow that's cutting it close. That was Issue #1

Changed the delivery time to 10am ok I can make that no problem.

Issue #2 I get about 150 miles and the refer is flashing. #### Ok pull over it wont start ok Mac 31 tell them refer not working again. Ok they have me take it to TK get there the starter is bad needs to be replaced. Ok take about 1.5 to 2hr no problem ok cutting it closer on my delivery.

Issue #3 I'm on the 10 going through Louisiana and I get a shout out on the radio. "Hey Central the rear drivers tire on your trailer is going flat." #####
Ok find a truck stop no tire shop. Ok Mac 31 "Oh it will be about 60 min before you will have someone there to get it fixed." Ok fine sit for almost another 2hrs. Tire fixed on my way again.

Issue #4 Get over the 18m bridge on the 10 in Louisiana and the radio blows up. "Hey westbound there are 3 accidents on the 10 at mm 103 102 and 101 after the chicken coupe" #####

I was not going to sit in traffic and go over. I will not make it to 10am apt they cant get a repower. Good News its not going to be a service fail because it wasn't driver error it was Mechanical Thank My LUCKY STARS!!!!

Why the hell are we at the ##### mercy of these lazy ### union receivers(lumpers). I've been at a door for 4 hours for a 15:30 appt. time and they are just starting to unload me!!(Fry's foods in Tolleson, AZ). I have 5.5 hours left on my 14 right now and need to make it to Yuma tonight(160 miles). If these lazy idiots can get me out of here by 2200, I might have a chance. I HATE UNION LUMPERS!!!! Why have appt. times if they aren't met. you can bet for #### sure if I was a 1/2 hour late, I'd hear it!!

Thanks raincatcher...on such short notice of leave time the only thing I'm have any concern over is the Birth Cert. still haven't figured out what the whole specific cert is about but hey...it is what it is
