You have doubles/triples and tanker.. Do you have Hazmat?? 99% chance you're not getting a job pulling those without Hazmat.
I'm not sure any of the choices you listed meet your lofty criteria with no experience - my attitude has been questioned, and probably rightfully so by many members here but I did do what was needed to get a job that meets my needs and expectations..
Something tells me if those are the companies you're looking at with that criteria you're screwed - dude..lol..Rerun8963 and Marksteven Thank this. -
As a new driver, your choices are gonna be limited....and probably limited to OTR ONLY at least the first year, unless you "know" someone.....G/L!Rerun8963 Thanks this. -
Those are every bodies requirements! Keep in mind there is a waiting list and the experienced drivers are at the top. Not to say it can't happen, but most likely won't. Did you think everyone just liked driving over the road? Nope! 90% of the guys posting on this forum are driving for a year over the road so that they can qualify for some local gig close to the house. Don't believe the recruiters! You will have a Swift recruiter tell you they have a local or regional and you'll be home on the weekends blah, blah, blah and after orientation you'll be on the first truck to over the road ville and your first day home will be in 8-9 weeks! So they tell you this is all they have for now you can keep driving over the road or quit. So you quit! This is the number one reason for the high turn over rate! Now you have wasted $6000 at a trucking school and two months at Swift. So you call up Werner and talk to the recruiter and they tell you they have a local or regional in which you will be home on the weekends! Just repeat what I said above and that's how the Werner gig will turn out! England maybe a little worse because they are going to try to force a lease on you.
With all that being said, I don't mean to sound negative. Keep your eyes on Craigslist. From time to time they do have so local gigs posted to work for some good mom and pop companies. If you are dead set on local driving then don't even waste your time on the mega-carriers. Try calling around to different companies for instance that you see driving around your town all the time. Ones with "day cab" trucks. Good luck, worst comes to worst you will have to put in a year of over the road driving. Really not so bad!

don't be too picky, as of right now, as you say, you're a new driver....you take what is offered.....and it'll be OTR at THOSE companies...

why do people come into this industry and expect to pick what they do right away? that'd be like walking onto a construction site and going "hey, i want a job, so all i wanna do right now is do windows and doors. but i dont have any experience doing them. actually the only carpentry experience i have is nailing a picture to a wall. i know you have other guys with 5 10 15 years experience but i wanna be doing doors and windows" you dont pick and choose what you do in any job when you start out. you suck up the crap work, and then you move on up. repeat after to me, you are just a number and are replaceable. are local jobs attainable? sure, but you most likely will only find a straight truck job, which isnt bad its what i do but you're trying to hit up a market that guys who have been OTR for a few years now have been working towards and you're gonna show up? doesnt work like that.

if you want a local job, your best bet is to hit up lumber yards, LTL freight companies and offer to do any jobs available until a driving job opens.
