tip;
sometimes this is the real world and you gotta do what u gotta do. Tell him dont ever put the 14 hours driving on paper. he would come out better logging the mileage in an eleven hour driving period and get a ''speeding'' violation. The police will only go back 7 days prior to today,but a Company will go back as far as they want to. If it happened in a parking lot it will probably just be settled by the insurance co., but tell him to keep his mouth shut about fault and all. Take pictures,get names of witnesses.good luck and a last word of advice to him being a new driver: DONT LET ANYONE PRESSURE YOU INTO DOING SOMETHING HASTILY,TAKE YOUR TIME AND EVALUATE SITUATIONS BEFORE GETTING IN A SITUATION LIKE THIS.A LOAD IS NEVER LATE AS LONG AS IT AND YOU GET THERE SAFELY!master, scottied67 and SunnyCat Thank this. -

well hopefully it'll be settled soon. no injuries, no fatalities....however he MUST realize he cannot drive more than 11 hours, as you say, he drove 14 hours...???? they shouldn't find that one unless they have his logbook, (not single log sheets for 8 days). but something he might want to remember too is that his company has a copy of his logs as well. they might give him some type of crap for the 14 hours driving time. also, if it was "city cops" they may not give him much grief, they hardly know how to ticket a car driver for snow on thier roofs, they ain't gonna understand a logbook. if it was State police however.....different story...
anyway's....
he will need to budget his time better, and if he cannot make an appointment, he SHOULD call his company to re-schedule the appointment...???
good luck to him, he might get an @zz whipping from the company (we always do no matter what), but he will survive....SunnyCat Thanks this. -
Nope. You didn't read the whole thread before you gave us your "wisdom" if you did you would know it didn't happen on the road.
