Wondering if anyone had any info on what happened on I-80 in IN on Wed afternoon.
Got little bits of information over the CB, but wanted to know a little more.
Think a truck hit a car just to the east of South Bend, and ran from the accident scene. Lost a set of wheels just to the west of there into the median, which I saw lying there as we drove by. Lost another set maybe 20 miles west of there onto the side of the road. Yet, they somehow continued driving.
Followed the road all the way to Chicago, but never saw the truck. Figured that he couldn't have gotten far missing two sets of tandem wheels, but he obviously made it somewhere.
Anybody know anything about this?

This link has the story you seek.davenjeip Thanks this. -
Thanks.
Not as exciting as I had thought. Looks like the information I had was merging two different stories into one.
Still leaves me wondering what happened to the truck that lost a few of it's wheels. -
Poor maintainance, losing your wheels and running go hand in hand.
He probably made it to base or stopped at Lake Station. I seen a couple drivers going down the road missing a set before. -
That would have to be,I cant think of the word...

I can see someone making it missing a set, but I still can't see how he wouldn't stop when he lost the second set.
Thinking he was running from the scene of an accident was the only thing that even made a little sense to me.
