Are there really a lot of jobs out there like I keep hearing from the recruiters or will it be hard for me to find a job?

Lots of available jobs due to high turnover.
Reason being: the hours stink, the pay stinks, you're treated like crap.
That's why these outfits are always hiring.

rambler, walleye and Spaces1965 Thank this.

yep, plenty of CRAPPY jobs out there. there are some ok jobs too, but they aren't going to be the ones advertising in the trucker magazines, or with big flashy ads on cards on the truckstop walls...

    Spaces1965 and rambler Thank this.

Personally I think that you drivers are the hub of our world and should be commended! :yes2557: But being a truckers daughter, I guess I would feel that way. Theres no denying that this country needs you hard working loyal and dependable people who keep those steel beasts in control so we can all get our new TV's Stereos and microwaves by the next Morning. :biggrin_255: It takes alot of courage to do what you do.... Pushing those huge steel machines from one end of the country, to the other. Holy God, thats a miracle in itself SO why the H_LL are you all having to suffer so badly just trying to do your jobs? Thats BS or greed to Me.!!
If there were no trucks , and no drivers to drive them, o haul freight back and forth, we all would be in deep Sh-T!!
Thank You Everyone, I really appreciate you!!!!! Bradsmom60 :biggrin_25514:

If you don't have any health issues, or past driving record issues, you will find a job.

You will find something. Do your time and get some experience, then if you don't like the company you are with, you can pick another one. As far as the big flashy card ads at truck stops... I often see Schneider and Crete advertising like that, and they are two of the best around. However, the companies that come to schools to give their spiel are the "training companies" like Swift, Werner, England, etc. Gotta start somewhere though.

Thank you Kingsson...I have done a lot of research and I am committed to giving it at least 1 year OTR. I have no ties at home (not even a plant to take care of) I am prepared for the fact that I may not like it but I realize that once I get the experience, a lot of doors will open up for me!
