Hi guys and gals. I have a problem that's probably been addressed a hundred times, but here goes. I'm almost 42 and live in West Central Michigan. I have had 3 alcohol driving convictions. The last being in 1996. The only thing since was I got a ticket for forgetting to renew the plates on my pickup. In 2008 I went to CDL school and got licensed. As my options were limited, I went to work for Arrow. After 6 weeks with a trainer I got my own truck. I drove solo about 6 months and got fed up and quit. I was only averaging about 1300 miles a week. I drove the truck dead head for 400 miles and dropped it at the closest terminal to my home, which was still 400 miles away. My wife came down, I turned in my truck and left. Since then a lot of things have happened. My wife fought breast cancer for almost a year, and we adopted two children from a bad family situation. I would like to go back to driving now, but the 3 offenses are making it nearly impossible to find work. What can I do? Thanks, and be safe.

Look for a mega carrier that will bring you on. Probably have to take a refresher course. You may be able to find a small carrier as well. Problem there though is the insurance companies may be the issue not so much the carrier.

What Finn said. Plus a nearly fifteen year old dui shouldnt be that big of a problem..I would *think* the recent veritable would be the concern along with if there are any safety issues from Arrow or negative DAC. Good luck.

No, 123456. My driving record is 100% clear. I think one of these is still on my criminal record though. I pulled my Motor Vehicle Report last year and it was spotless. I did have issues when I quit Arrow Though. When it was time to get my truck, Arrow informed me there was an abandoned Kenworth t-600 near my home. When I picked it up, the stereo was missing, so I put one in myself, and Arrow knew it. When I turned in my truck, they accused me of stealing it. I pulled my DAC also, or hire right. It showed on it documents that were requested by some companies I had applied for, but nothing else. So it's either clear, or, incomplete. The fact that I drove the truck such a far way and dropped it at an Arrow terminal, does not constitute abandonment does it? Thanks.

Some companies consider it abandonment if you dont drop it at the terminal they want it dropped at.

I didn't dump it where they wanted me to. They wanted me to take it to Tulsa, then pack my stuff up and ship it home. Right, my fridge, inverter, cb, clothes etc. It would have cost me $200.00 or more.

The DUI's would disqualify you from any company that might want you to go to Canada, so that will limit some carriers from your choices.

Does anyone know of a flatbed company that has lower hiring standards?
