you need to get with ur driver services. when you went thru orientation you should have 1 person to call if anything comes up. they shld take care of it quick. explain everything to them and then ask for a new mentor. it is mandatory that he put you up in a hotel or reasonable accomodations wheather or not it is planned hometime. and if he does leave you, swift will get you back to get a new mentor. that sucks dude, but i wld be on the phone and then kick his #####
No food! No water or bathroom and expected to stay in truck

Aw, c'mon, Red, you know I can take a little bit of ribbing and dish it right back out. I don't think Kinghunter has a mean bone in his body.
And when did you ever get banned for teasing with me? I don't report people until it goes way over the top. I didn't even report that guy in his smoking thread...he did that all on his own. -
Wow.. that sounds like a miserable experience for sure. Don't companies have kind of recommended procedures or SOP/SOGs in place for the accommodation of trainees, when the trainer is on HT. I realize that's probably a dumb question. This doesn't sound cool at all. I would think this should be against company policy. Besides being inconsiderate , its just wrong ! Mentor my %$#. They have a lot of nerve calling some of those trainers mentors it seems . Best of luck to you bluebonn on getting a new MENTOR !
Injun Thanks this. -
Aww c'mon Redd I just woke up and have not had my daily share of caffeine yet.

Just another vote of support for bluebonn. When I read the OP last night, I sat here with my mouth hanging open. The mentor is sitting in his house with all the comforts while his co-driver/student is sitting outside in the truck at the curb. Ridiculous.
Injun and The Challenger Thank this. -
this is crazy

There are proceedures in place. This ...um... guy... failed to follow them.
My mentor went to a friend's house for dinner when we were laid over in Tucson. I was invited and welcomed into the home of his friends. I have never had such a welcome feeling in an American's house...they were Senegalese. Everybody sits on the floor and eats off their section of a big plate. I wouldn't have traded the experience for anything. Yeah, I didn't fit in with my mostly European hide, but I felt welcome and part of it. What this guy did, leaving Bluebonn out there on the curb like that was reprehensible. If I could, I'd have his head right now. But, there's a time for everything and now's not the time yet.
Redd....poke away...you're fun when you're teasing.

The Challenger Thanks this. -
It is crazy and I wish I was not flat broke or I'd send him some money. I admire those who can. It shows there are people who have a soft heart for others. Thank you for those that are helping his person out.

Injun, you know how to reach me if you need to get money to him. I'm on the way to have my arm looked at again.
Injun Thanks this. -
Probably should start a seperate thread for this but maybe ya'll won't mind. I believe the O/P said this guy is an O/O. Why aren't trainees at all companies trained by experienced company drivers? Are the companies reducing their liability for the welfare of the trainee by placing them in the hands of a L/O or an O/O?
