Sounds unreal, but would make a great story for one of those trouble shooting radio or tv shows.

This is a wonderful example of how people should come together to help their fellow human being.
While bluebonn isn't new to the industry, he is new to Swift. It's sometimes very difficult to speak up when being new, especially when you need the job. In his case, he had people who work for Swift and put themselves out there to help him. He also had a lot of folks with knowledge and understanding to him. This is how it should be in all facets of life. Sadly, most folks find it easier to turn a blind eye and not get involved.
Thank you to all of you who took the initiative to step up and help.
Injun, you are truly a very special lady.

thats crazy, the mentor suppose to call driver service let them know how many days hes going to be home and they would put $65 for each day on his comdata card for a hotel. u need to get u a new mentor, i dont treat non of my students like that.
scottied67 Thanks this. -
a lot of people bash swift, swift as a company is not to be blamed its the people, and yea swift gonna have the worst name out there because they have the most drivers, thats common sense, more drivers = more accidents, more tickets, more bs so that will never change.
biker dave and scottied67 Thank this. -
I'm probasbly late to the party also but, 2 trucks isn't so bad. Take the new one with a better chance of not being hung out to dry. If you have to wait for tomorrow so be it obviously the other OP isn't too concerned with your welfare or for that matter his own paycheck. Thanks to all who helped my fellow trainee out, I hope that I'm this lucky if the Sheet ever hits the fan. I leave tomorrow with my mentor gonna be a long day I'm so wound up I couldn't sleep.scottied67 Thanks this.

Good luck Longshot. Let us know how the weeks with your mentor goes.
I'm starting to get nervous myself about finally getting things started. Big career change.scottied67 Thanks this. -
I don't know what will happen to him but Swift is pissed. Today he calls me and tells me there is still no freight and I will need to stay in the hotel another night.
I said I have just spent all my money on the past two nights and that he will have to pay. He said no call your dispatcher and they will put money on your card.
Hell I am new and did not even realize I have a dispatcher being a student. So I have no idea who to call so I call Lancaster. The lady at Lancaster got upset and said give me your mentor's number.
She called him then called me back and told me it is the mentor's responsibility to pay for your room not yours. She said if this happens again in the future to call her before spending my own money on the room.
Now yesterday my Mentor's son brings me my medicine so I feel just fine today. Lancaster wants me to ride with the mentor until I get to a terminal. So I guess I am stuck with him until we get to Laredo or Lancaster.
You know this guy has been the nicest guy up until this point. We got along just fine. He has not done one pre trip since I have been with him and I thought that was not right but other than this he has been OK.
If I would have not said anything about being in the truck outside his house with no bathroom or access to food and water I might still be out there today.
So when Lancaster said he needs to come down here and pay for the room he seemed a little pissed on the phone.
So as of right now I am still stuck waiting on a load out of here so I can get back to a terminal.PainNdaNeck, The Challenger, Lilbit and 2 others Thank this.
