you have a student manager from the terminal that you were at from orentation....you should know that....call this person asap...they will typically want you to resolve this with your mentor. I had issues with mine at first...I got over my anger and we finished things out on good terms. This guy may have things going on that you are unaware of...quite frankly..if you didn't know you have a student manager then I am inclined to believe that you may be missing some other details as to what is going on...that being saqid ...dude was not right in leaving you in front of his house.....good luck...stay on the truck and get your 240 in asap....it will be funny story to tell other newbies in a few months...the voice of experience.....take care

since its HIS truck, if he does not want to do a pre-trip, so what....i know YOU want to do one, but you are aggravating the situation...let it go, you will be out of his truck soon enough.

he was probably pissed about the motel money because all along he probably has been putting THAT money in his pocket while students pay for a motel room. you are probably NOT the first one he has done this too....

soon enough you will have a great story to tell at the truck stops....

good luck to you, and for gosh sakes, do not aggravate him all because of a pre-trip or whatever else he does NOT want you to do....

if his truck breaks down, and you're driving up and see him...??

    keep on trucking.....

sooner or later his truck will blow up, and he will either pay for repairs or get a real bad credit report on him for dumping back onto swift without making any more payments....

I am not really worried about the pre trip. Does not bother me as it is his truck. Just hope the next four weeks go better than the last two weeks. He just came to the hotel and gave me my money back and paid for another night.

So all is good as of now. Just waiting for something to get me out of here.

Thanks for everyone's help I will keep this thread updated as much as I can in the next four weeks. I should have brought my notebook but thought I already brought too much stuff.

Oh well will get it when I get my own truck.

I'd still get out of his truck and get with another mentor. Just sayin... He's already shown hs lack of capacity to treat a trainee like a human being. Not sure if I'd risk any more time with him. Just my .02. Worth as much as you paid for it, I guess.

What happened to the other mentor that was supposed to pick you up?

I have no idea what happened to the new mentor. I was just told to stay with the current mentor until we get to a terminal.

Call your own contact back in Lancaster and ask what your PTA is set for. Good way to find out if he's been jerking you around with this "no freight" business. Also ask how many loads he has refused. I can see one day, maybe a day and a half at the outside for a mentor truck to sit. But you're going on 4 days now. That's nearly unheard of, even in slow freight times.

Glad you're feeling better. Can't believe he'd make you sit there for days and days without your necessary meds. That by itself just frosts my tail!

You know, I just got done reading this whole thread, and to say the least, I am beyond impressed. What Injun, Texas Nana, and everyone else in here did your bluebonn is AMAZING!!! My grand-dad was a driver way back when, and this reminds me of some the stories he told about how drivers used to take care of each other and even stranded motorists along the road. I've wanted to be a trucker since I was a kid watching Sonnie and Pruit on 'Movin' On" and playing with grand-dads CB, and it really relieves me, since it looks like I'm FINALLY going to be able to get on the road, that there are still drivers out there like that. THANK YOU!!!!!
