Escrow monies are returned 30 days after close of business. Minus any outstanding charges. I've not heard of any complaints against KLLM. However I am not the person to ask. Company does want their equipment back. Qualcomm , prepass & pikepass boxes, etc.

    Poobah Thanks this.

Not what I heard last week in Jackson. Word is they sold the last batch of Cascadias they got to other companies and they bought 30 Volvos.
I looked inside a Cascadia today and there is less storage then in a Columbian. To me that's a negative. Also you might want to get a 2008 Colu. with the regen emmision on it or in a few short years you won't be able to run CA. Some food for thought.
Best to talk to KLLM about their lease for 1st. hand info.
I think a Volvo is $621 a week without an APU. Volvo charges $10K for the APU. That's from a driver who just got one last week.
    For what it's worth.

sounds like drivers talking in the break room... but there might be some truth to it. From what I was told during orientation and the lease purchase class (5 weks apart from each other), they sold 128 Cascadias because at the time they were just sitting there. They didnt have the drivers to fill the seats and they were offered too good a price to pass it up.

THEN they grossly overestimated driver turnover.... all of a sudden, they ran out of trucks.... so they got a deal on 10 Volvos. (they may have bought more since then though) I know one lease driver who was also a trainer made the company get him a brand new 11' Volvo with the table/sleeper combo. But as a general rule of thumb, they prefer NOT getting NEW trucks for lease drivers (due to the cost that the lease driver would have to pay)

(IMHO) Arvil got that 11 Volvo at 800/week (or something like that) BUT, that volvo ALSO gets 9 mpg. that extra 3 mpg over 3000 miles per week (he will get more since he is a trainer) is approx $500 per week in savings.... as long as he gets the miles he is making out MUCH better than I....lol.

9 MPG ??? The only truck I've had that could do that had a 3176e cat going 55mph bobtail ( though it would do 8mpg slow & w an emtpy trl). It was a 1996 fld .

There seems to be much writing on the wall that is hidden in the shadows. A newcomer to the business, much less the company, will have a hard time even seeing it...much less discerning it. Give it time grasshopper, give it time.

Don't take this the wrong way, I wish you much success with your new business, just remember there are always different angles to what you see and hear.

yet, according to YOUR profile you are also in your first year?.... with 55 posts on this forum?...

please, pray-tell, what makes you the expert? Are you a L/P driver? An O/O? Do you work for KLLM? Care to be ALITTLE more specific?

You did take it the wrong way, sorry, I knew I should have just kept it to myself.

No, I am not an expert..far, far from it. And yes, i work for KLLM and am fairly new to trucking, about 14 months now, all with KLLM as a company driver.

I won't be more specific than to say what I said again in a different way... time will give you more experience and knowledge of trucking in general and of the workings of KLLM in specific. Things are NOT always what they seem on the surface and it takes TIME to get under that.

Once again, I am in no way trying to be confrontational with you and wish you MUCH success.

Escrow to be returned at end of lease. I may be wrong, no interest. All escrow funds are returned upon departure from KLLM. If you walk away from lease any surplus is returned, bear in mind that leasee is responsible for the state of the truck upon return. I do not recall any excess mileqge charges in the lease. Repairs in excess, on the lease trucks their is considerable warranty coverage that covers engine /transmission / body. Also the bobtail insurance coverage specified should cover the costs of collision. (At least in theory) This is how it was explained in orientation to me.
KLLM maintenance has someone whose sole job is warranty items.
