Thank ya folks! I was a kind of worried about not getting any seat time before the test. I guess I'm still a little gun shy from some of the stuff I seen happen at the company I originally drove for, and even around the place I currently work. I'm going to fork over the dough and take a refresher week after next anyway though, just to be double sure I got the rust worked out of my backing (not that I was any good at it to start with, LOL).

OPUS 6: I'd say I'd be going through Indianapolis since I'm currently in the Cincinnati area. Do they give you a choice as to where to go?

Capt_Gruuvy: I don't know what you consider a good lookin' sweetheart, but my mamma always told me I was the best lookin' son she ever had. Of course I am her only son, too so I'm not sure what that means.... LOL

Hey Hillybilly, if you don't mind me asking, how long ago did you drive those two weeks and how long is the refresher course? And is that what Schneider told you you have to do in order to drive for them? The only reason I ask is because I am in a similar situation. Thanks.

I have been reading these threads and have one fact to state if you go to orientation and for any reason leave it will show up on dac 98 percent of the time there are alot of revengful companies out here that misuse dac.and it is not easy to get things removed.

I had to leave orientation at SNI for family emergency and they said I could come back but the longer I wait I would have to do a refresher course.Should I check with HireRight (DAC)?

People pop into a thread and spread all sorts of nonsense that they have no tangible proof of as actually happened. This is always an instance where a friend of theirs knew a cousin of a waitress who knows this trucker that comes into the diner on occassion and he said that he heard where some kid in Podunk Idaho who has a sister in Los Angeles who's husband left orientation after he failed his drug test ........

There is never a straight line ...

Schneider wants drivers and they will take you back at anytime ... provided you have not jacked your Driving Record in the meantime.

Typically 90 days is the Refresher Course window. It would stand to reason that each instance is handled on it's own merit.

    Mr.V Thanks this.

dd6767: I drove those 2 weeks back in 2008. According to the SNI recruiter I talked to, it doesn't matter how long of a refresher you take, or what school you go to, as long as you take a refresher and can pass the driving test during orientation. He also told me to wait until I was enrolled in the refresher to submit my application. He told me why, but I honestly forget what he said about that.

I am considering Schneider as I have 1 year OTR. I would like to go local and pull tank. I am wondering if driving for Schneider tank would get me decent $ and home time. Many gas tanker companies want 2years doing class A.

Schneider has a terminal in Smyrna TN. I live 35 mi. West of Nashville.

    Do they have tank there?

Sorry I can't help you other than I know that the bulk division is expanding and they are looking for drivers.
