All your questions are probably answered in this thread. The only dumb question is the one not asked. You are better off asking for specific information

Here is your best piece of advice. Dedicate yourself through the training before you get on a trainer's truck. Know what you need to know. West Valley City is no place for a vacation. It will take work. Put into it what you want to get out of it. Once you do end up on a trainer's truck, make him or her your best friend. Ask questions, and the better you two get along, the easier that 4-5 weeks will be.

Niners is right. You want to get to know your trainer and be able to contact them after you get off there truck in case you need help. I only talked to my trainer for about 3 weeks after I got off his truck and then I stopped talking to him. Anytime I run into another central driver I ask the questions I have. I didn't like my trainer but I got through the training and am much happier with what little information I did gleam from him. And if your trainer does anything not to company policy let training know. I made the mistake of not doing that. I will probably regret it for a very long time. But if I ever become a trainer I will not do the things he did or treat my trainee the way he treated me.

At least there is a positive thing your trainer taught you... don't do anything that he did! :biggrin_2559:

Thank you all. All the questions I have had have been answered in this thread. The only one I can think of right now is Do they teach you to put chains on in the school. I have a cousin that use to truck and all they said was make sure they show you how to put chains on.

They have a suspended tire that you can put chains on and take them off but as far as on a real truck no. If you go with your trainer and its snowing and the chain law is up then you will learn how to throw chains. I haven't learned yet and Im dreading it.

I got sunburned while out in the yard. That was fun. It was cold but not as cold as it is now.
