otherhalif..the info about the driver getting a ticket for transponder in the wrong place came over the qualcom from my company. When you get busted for some bogus problem at the scales, maybe you will be singing a diffrent tune. Im all about safe equipment and safe drivers, but some dot are out to get you no matter what. As for myself, Ive had about 10 inspections in 4 years and haven't had a problem. All of those inspections were in california, but wait...I forgot, They did get me in arizona for a bad trailer tire. This happened when I first started driving.

I don't know how hard it is for these antique, good ole boys to understand, but DOT was NEVER Instituted for the safety of the motoring public. You play right into their gotcha game when you try to "keep it straight". The individual officers are compartmentalized to the point that they are insulated from the consequences of their actions. If you are a driver who actually believes CSA 2010 IS set up for your protection, I can only hope YOU are the drivers it removes from driving. You aren't intelligent enough to see the forest for the trees...:biggrin_25510:

Technically speaking, yes. Off-duty is supposed to mean exactly that - off duty. Not answering calls from the dispatcher or L/C. Not replacing a light bulb. Not even so much as kicking a tire. If you wanted to be anal about it, even pressing a single button to answer a Qualcomm message constitutes an immediate change of duty status to line 4.

I remember when we used to log "on duty" , "driving", and "off duty".
NEVER used the "sleeper" cause it was none of their business what or where we were if not "driving" or "on duty".

If you are logging your showers and bathroom time, you have some serious OCD going on.

Say you lay down at 8pm (cause I know most are "day drivers") and around 1am the rancid TS buffet kicks in and you have to get up and go "potty"....
Do you log your trip to the toilets as being out of sleeper too ???

That's like someone thinking they don't need to use their headlights when it's raining because "I can see just fine"....

How many people are going to "route" themselves so they can be in one particular place on one particular day to take that day (or more) off from work to testify in court for a simple ticket?
Or, how many dispatchers will route a truck and risk losing hundreds/thousands of dollars?
    Not many, I suspect.
