Well, it will be a non-issue because I did get some practice double clutching during my last driving session at school. I had no problem picking up the technique... I'll use the double clutch method for the company road test, and on the mentor's truck if they want me to. Once I go solo, I'll be floating gears.

I must be one of the other 10% cause I still double clutch. Maybe it's just due to the fact I'm one of those crazy people who like physical activity. I've been known to go a little nuts sitting behind the wheel all day. At least clutching gives me an opportunity to move something.
scottied67 and The Challenger Thank this. -
Grind 'em till you find 'em!
(not really)Racer X 69 and RaTrAcE Thank this. -

Hey dick - were you in PA today? I waved at a swift driver in a Burgundy truck (a friendly wave, not the single finger salute). I was rolling east towards the allegheny tunnel...
As far as shifting goes, I mostly have been double clutching. If I am rolling up to a stop, I have been floating down to second gear just before the truck stops so I don't need to engage the clutch brake. My mentor typically double clutches every shift, so I do the too. And, as squid has suggested - there are times where I grind em til I find em. Everyone scratches a gear occasionally... -
The wear happens when pulling it out of gear. If it is still heavily engaged you will hurt it. Gotta relieve the "tension."
When I took my driving test out of 3 people I was the only one that double clutched. The tester said "thank you."
I float, I double clutch, I half do it too. I didn't know how to double clutch for 8 years. -

Keeping the clutch engaged through the shift is horrible (and bad practice) on the entire truck.
"ICE SHIFTING"
LMAO If your shifting correctly you should not have to increase RPM's or change resistance at all to move the transmission in to neutral with or with out the clutch...
Sadly driver - Most drivers are horrible at shifting. Not just on equipment but also on fuel economy.. A good driver can easily increase their fuel mileage by .5 with proper shifting and gear selection ... Got to run talk later driver~!!scottied67 Thanks this. -
One of my instructors told me that Swift monitors floating, over revving and hard braking on the Qualcomm. Not sure if it true, but that is what I was told.
