Western Flyer Express cancelled my livelyhood!

3000 miles a week. i wouldnt be crying i would be smiling

Why I just had a 400 mile yesterday and was dang glad of it. Oh wait!!! You mean I can't include the unloading at a rcvr, then going on a 160 mile round trip to get an mty, THEN have to get loaded again?

 

Well I have been at WFX for a year now. I love it. I get all the miles I want. Yes we have a new safety director and he is getting changes done. When I tell them I'm out of hours thats it shut down and take your break.They had problems in the past I've been told but they are getting better. Run mostly I-40 and south works for me. How in the H@## can you have 4 grand worth if stuff? I have everything but a microwave and I don't have that much.

 

. . .the way i see it is, there are 2 sides to every story out there. as a trucker's wife for the past 33 yrs, i've seen/heard it all & i never take anyone's word, be it the company or the driver, that i haven't known personally for at least a good 10 years! face it, both sides can & will lie when necessary.

. . .that being said, this story sounds oddly suspicious to me, especially given the fact that this is the only negative commentary (whether the original 2008 version or this latest 2010 one) that i've been able to track down regarding this company.

. . .kind of makes ya go, "hmmmm", don't it? so, barring any actual legitimate proof of these allegations against this company, i wouldn't give it the time of day. sounds more like a whole lotta "who shot john" than anything else here. please, don't pee on my leg & then try tellin' me it's raining!

 

Some people dont do a proper pre trip.....
They get behind the wheel and just run their ##### off... kinda sounds like it might of been the case here...
I am a runner and cant stand to sit for long at all...
3000 miles is not asking much from any driver!
Do a proper pre trip and post trip every day and u should never have a major catastrophe to deal with.... but i do understand S&&t happens and crap occurs......

As far as the 2 year gap in when it happened who cares !

But what gets me is the 4 grand in crap in the truck... your credibility was shot right there !

Keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down !

Know what u r doing and always look around !

 

A ton of people have been freaking out about the 4k worth of stuff.... I am not sure about getting all the way to 4k but I have a 2.5k laptop.... HOLD IT! ...before you flame me about how it does nothing more than your $300 laptop you should consider that perhaps it isn't just used in the truck? It is the laptop I own for other purposes so it goes with me because it would be silly to buy another laptop to surf the internet or play some games....

With that said if I have an accident or get it stolen that is on me...it was my choice to take it and I know the risks....

 

all of this talking about laptops is very compelling and makes for real interesting B.S.
NOW can we get to the root of this company and is it a bad company or is this one or two disgruntled drivers just pissed at the world ?
Lets face it every one at every company just does not click....
Is this a terrible company ?
Inquiring minds wants to know !

From what i have seen and know about them they were.... are an outlaw outfit....
Which for me is my type of trucking.... I know that those days are coming to an end...

I would like an honest opinion by drivers who actually drove for them... I am old school.... is this still an old school company or are they going to the dark side ?

 

Is it really true??

Are most drivers just wheel holders now, that pull into the TS at 5pm every night ??

Give me truck on Sunday afternoon, and a 3000 mile run, and I'll be on the phone THURSDAY MORNING asking "What's Next ???".

3000 is a "MINIMUM number of miles" you should be looking for per week.

And you should be turnin 500+ every 24 hrs.
