Hey there. Seems like Calex is a good place to work. Do they currently offer Northeast regional driving positions? If, so, what is the pay rate and hometime? Thanks.

I think it's .40 p/m, short haul pay, extra $ for NYC/LI, detention pay and home on weekends and during the week

All the Northeast you can handle, .40/mile, home every weekend for the most part. Sometimes just a reset but usually longer. I live in Philly and have only been out over the weekend 2-3 times since I started in June. Sometimes I have the rig home others I drive home from Pittston in my vehicle.
Johnboy thanks, got the pipe taken care of and not really feeling much better but not bad enough to stay home, I'm leaving in the morning about 5:30 to head back up and grab my truck. Have a load at the plains warehouse going up to Buffalo for tomorrow afternoon. Louie made a comment to me last week that he would be able to put on regional "real soon". We'll see...

It's been a little slow last few weeks but up until this I have been constantly moving, so much so it's tough to stop for anything, showers, etc...They'll keep you busy. Getting home during the week for me is almost non-existent, it's happened a few times but usually not and we do have freight coming into Philly and South Jersey. Usually it's coming home for the weekend with a load that delivers locally or I have just delivered in the area and don't really have much driving time left but just enough to get home and shut down.

I took my truck up there so I have a way to get around when I'm stuck up in Pittston so I can get out of the truck for a while to grab a bite or do some shopping. Over the summer I rarely drove my vehicle home because I have a bike too but it's too #### cold right now to be riding that. If I'm not mistaken we have a yard down in Delaware, I want to say it's in Milford but you would have to verify that.

al_huryn, I noticed in your post you said something about being put on a regional "real soon". Considering that you live in Philly, do you not currently run northeast regional? Please explain as Im very curious. Thanks.

They consider the Northeast to be local and the regional is like a super regional. When I was hired I was told that was east of the rockies but as I'm sure you've read we go to the coast too. JohnBoy could probably explain that better. Personally I just don't like running the Northeast corridor and want to run anywhere else.

Here are a few pictures from my trip out west.

    1) I-75 in northern Mars, I mean Michigan.
    2) Hwy 72 to Kalkaska Michigan
    3) Unloading, -2 and snow ##### deep to a Giraffe

I don't have any from Wyoming, I couldn't pry my hands off the steering wheel to get my camera.
