No - thank goodness I had an upgrade available and got a new Iphone for next to nothing. It's actually a better one than I had before so I guess it's a blessing (somehow)!

millis does not require you to train for one year it is one year of experience or you have to go through there school. There school is 3 weeks than 3 days of orientation and than with a trainer for 5 to 8 weeks. You also have to sign a contract for a year.

First post in this thread for me, thanks for the heads up regarding hiring. Actually DH just applied literally hours before I found this thread and I've been reading ever since. :biggrin_2558:
Couple of questions if you don't mind....

Does anyone have any experience or know anything about their standard orientation for experienced drivers? We live in GA so I'm hoping they hold orientation in Cartersville.

Also, can anyone tell me anything about their rider policy? I believe on their website it says riders are allowed, but is there a grace period before riders are allowed? Is there a monthly charge?

DH is ready for a change, but I'm a little skeptical about mileage and the lanes. I guess they really don't have "regional runs", seems like everyone is running a bit of everywhere.

Hope everyone is having a good week and thanks for all the great info, I've enjoyed my reading this evening.

If he wants regional or dedicated- Cartersville is the best place for him.
They do orientation there also. It's a three day orientation and a short driving test and he's ready to roll.

As far as a rider - they do charge like 15.00 a month to cover the insurance charge for the rider. I do believe there is a 90 day probation period before he can have a rider. But the experienced drivers I'm not 100% sure they have a waiting period.
Recruiting can give you more details.

Call Alice in recruiting and she'll help you. If you do - tell David in truck 7114 said hello!

    OMyStarz Thanks this.

Nice! Thanks David! I looked for quite a while around the 'net and every single post I ran across mentioned going to school. I was beginning to wonder if they accepted experienced drivers at all.

I assume you are running regional? Do they have different regions...or is it all regional? Looks like you don't go much farther west then I-35?

We've seen Millis trucks rolling around for years and can you believe that we just found out they have a terminal in GA? And...... we live just a few miles from Albany. :biggrin_2555: We even used to pick up beer loads out of AB in Cartersville for a carrier based in Maryland. Sheesh!

I assume that's just a drop yard there in Albany?

I really hope he doesn't have to wait 90 days for riders, that may be a deal killer for him (assuming they are hiring).

He should be home tomorrow so unless they call him first I'm sure he'll call then. I'll have him tell 'em David sent him! <wink>
