So after all that Drama of waiting and being told one time that I was good to go by my my DA at Driver Solutions, both USA, and Pam passed on me, said they wouldn't hire me! So does that mean i'm through, I mean should I just wait another year or so and try to get into trucking then, I mean do I even have a chance at getting on anywhere if those two companies passed on me, then i'm sure everyone else will be the same way, any advice on this?
What to do now?

what happened?

Keep trying. If something so little is going to make you wait longer or change career then there's no use becoming a driver cuz changes happen everyday. Nit everything can go perfectly the way you want it everytime

All my Driver Agent told me was there was a ticket in January of 08, and that it wasn't 3 years old untill march because thats when I paid the ticket. But at first he told me it wouldn't be a big deal, but apparently it was. I also had some other tickets to but they were all atleast 4 years old or so.

Alright, i'm gonna keep trying, maybe somethin will come up! -
First off, March is only two months away. Is is a major ticket? A number of companies only go back three years and as long as you were truthful about your record (employment, criminal and MVR) you should be fine. There will be a company that will hire you. there was a kid in my CDL class, 21 years old, that used to be in a gang. had an assault charge about 18 months ago. He had a daughter and turned his life around and is now engaged. Great kid. He was totally honest about his past. Everyone turned him down. Swift, Werner, JBS, May, etc. He kept trying and he is out with a trainer at Maverick right now. They took a chance on him and it is going to pay off for them.
celadontrucking Thanks this. -
Well thats good to hear that someone did atleast give him a chance, no it wasn't a serious ticket, I mean it was a speeding ticket, but not reckless driving or anything like that! Thanks for your responce, i'll keep trying!

this "driver agent" is this someone that works at the trucking school you went to...??
if so, if i ain't said it once, i said it a million times, recruiters will tell you anything, especially school recruiters because all those idiots are is salesmen and they get a commission on every student they get...when they see a driving record that is "questionable", they all say, no problem, its not that bad, when in fact IT IS BAD and they dismiss this just to get you to sign up and pay your money....
then they turn around at a later time like now for instance and say something really intelligent like, "well the companies must have changed their policy, they hired guys with tickets just last month"....
i really wish just once when i say "WAIT TILL THE TICKET/ACCIDENT CLEARS, THEN GO TO SCHOOL" that someone will actually listen......I WORK FOR A SCHOOL and WE DO NOT TELL YOU THAT YOU WILL NOT HAVE A PROBLEM, BECAUSE WE KNOW YOU WILL....!!!!
and when i get MY students in MY class i re-confirm to them they will have a problem, but they still sign up, but they are FOREWARNED .......!!! WE DO NOT HIDE THESE FACTS....!! they have a chance to back out of school, but many decide to still go through with it...
well, march ain't too far off, try some other companies AFTER MARCH.....!!!! and get a copy of your DMV and MAKE SURE the tickets are gone......THEN APPLY...!!!celadontrucking Thanks this. -
Driver Solutions Network, from what I can tell, earns their money by selling you school "driver training" and getting you into one of the companie they work with. That's another commission for them.
I'd suggest calling companies directly. Get it straight from the horse's mouth. Before you do that, go down to your local DMV and pull your own record. Then you'll know exactly what's on there and you can fax them a copy.
If you're going through Driver Solutions, I'm assuming you're looking for someone to pick up your bill for school. You might want to try your local Job Service office and ask about the Workers Investment Act, which, if available to you, will also pay your bill.
If that doesn't work out, then contact companies that offer to help you get your CDL. Here's a few - and I may not be 100% correct on all these but ask around.
Roehl
Werner
Swift
Schneider
Stevens Transport
Central Refrigerated
Prime
Con-Way Truckload.
And DO NOT Lease anything from any company.
