One beer can react like one beer to one person but one can react like 10 to another. To many people have been killed by drunk drivers so they up hold this law. I have been involved in an accident by a drunk driver that has left me with a permanent scar across my head a few years ago from almost being killed by decapitation, you won't catch me very often in public without a hat on to cover it up. Don't drink and drive. You should have known better.

If I have one beer I won't drive at all. I will not risk my CDL for it. I know I could have one or two and still be okay, but I won't take that chance.
Skunk_Truck_2590 and The Challenger Thank this. -
I'll tell you what really ticks me off...the nitwits that drink while driving and throw the empty cans out the window along my road frontage. Every spring I pick up a feed bag full of trash and beer cans. #### alcys can't even wait to get home before they pop the top.

I have to agree with broken on this one, some of us can change, whether it be through will power, determination, or just the fact that we want to stay alive. I too had a serious drinking problem in my past, but when i got sick, and the doc looked at me and said that if i wanted to be alive in 6 months, i'd better quit. That was it for me, haven't had a drink since then. This just wasn't a 'i'm feeling like dog doo' for a few days, this was lay you out on your arse, unbearable pain, unable to eat sick, that for me lasted almost 6 months. So don't think that there is a chance for a relapse for everyone.
Life might not always be sweet, but it sure as hell beats the alternative.Injun Thanks this. -
too many people who aren't drunks looking for jobs these days...good luck.

Thanks Mr Perfect, but I have to say I'm glad that God did not make you smart enough to be in the position to make that kind of call ,because if the law can fine and punish someone for cheating on a logbook, well then OFF DUTY should be just that, so for what a person does on his personal time should not have anything to do with his carreer

To clarify this a bit.
I know someone that was arrested for domestic violence and is no longer allowed in Canada.
Note, I said arrested, not convicted. -
Beg to differ especially when your career involves a drivers liscense. I see way too many drivers sitting in the pub tieing a good one on while their truck is outside ready to go bright and early in the morning.
The fines should be stiff no matter if the driver is on duty or not. Heck I would love to see the penalty for non comercial drivers tripple.
If someone is stupid enough to drink then drive and risk his career then why trust that they will do the right thing when they are supposed to be working. Nope throw the book at them and hard.
It is not about the drinking. I tie one on once and awhile also but the car stays at home or it stays up town and I call for a ride. There is absolutly no excuse for someone to get behind the wheel after drinking. NONE!!!!!jbatmick, JimDriv3r, Shoestring and 2 others Thank this.
