They have about 4 slow months yr. Right now im sitting after sitting for 5 days last week. Last month took them a month to get me a truck, when my truck became a trade truck. Its hard to talk to area mangers when needed. They are really going intermodel, so it might be a good company to work for if you go local rail, but over the road not very good. Average miles a week are 1,500, and im 48 states. Some processes are bad like 7 days before class b inspection they will not run you far. They like to get the truck inspection done at home terminal, so you lose another 3-4 day in limbo. They have maintenace facilities all over. Wonder why they couldnt inspect the truck in chicago, instead of cali to keep me running after all this down time I had with them. Dont recommend this for you company over the roaders. They are always hiring becouse they have a high turnover rate!!
JB Hunt not good for over the road

You are exactly right. I used to do southeast regional w/them. Boy was that a joke. I could not make it on 1200-1500 miles a week. I talked to OTR guys all the time at the terminals and they said the same things. I kind of thought they did not do OTR anymore, I had heard they went all Regional now. Who knows, I know I would never work for them again.

I don't think JBH is a OTR company at all now, though they may have a few around.
Intermodal and "transportation services" according to their new site.
About 2000 trucks/drivers smaller than just a few years ago, and closed a lot of service locations. -

it has been at least a year or so, that JB announced they were moving more toward a intermodle way of doing buisness, and doing away with most otr trucks. Rarley do i ever see one of thier otr trucks out on the road anymore. But you go into any metro area, and there are gaggles of JB day cabs with intermodle trailers.

Keep an eye on 'ol JB, they know how to make money, and are changing with the times.
However, I wouldn't even dream of OTR work for them, they're just about finished with it...... -
