That was really cool of you man! I was in Fl one time with a load of lumber and it started to pour rain so I parked under an over pass to buy some time while I covered the load. There were two prison worker trucks there and all the prisoners jumped out and helped me tarp the load. I thought that was pretty nice of them. I had a roll of 8 cans of dip and gave them to the guys to share.
Hey Dino thanks for keeping everyone updated on Southern Pride too! I know everyone really appreciates it.

Been nice weather here on a little R&R,, sitting by the pool, while my little bro, in Mass is buried in snow. I met another trucker at the pool bar, he is from Minn. and loves the snow and ice as much as I do... So I helped him to a nice MiaKia with the little umbrellas and where going to talk about all the brave truckers that keep moving the freight in rain, sleet, snow, or thunder storms..
Keep up the good work guys and gals,, We both are thinking of you all and feeling the pain..
Well not really, were not feeling any pain right now.,... Aloha...dino6960 Thanks this. -
Thank you to all the drivers who help each other. This is how we truckers survived all the crap we deal with daily since who-flung-the-chunk. If we don't care for each other nobody will and then it might as well be over.

way i look at it, he shoulda had it tarped b/fore he left the shipper, if he was at the shipper, i woulda helped him, but he obviously was to lazy, and took a chance w/out even knowing the weather he was headed towards, most shippers won't even let you leave unless your tarped if they require it, i dunno, just my lousy 2 cen't that ain't worth a penny

Cool thread fellas.
I have been able to help other guys and gals out in backin in a space that might be a bit tight or even lendin a hand for some other need. I have been returned the favor many times by other drivers. Altho Im only a 2yr vet, it lets me know that there is still some good ole time commeradery around. (sorry i know i spelled it wrong).
I'm an old time type of fella tho i was born to late for the ole west.
I help when i can and at times wish i could stop and help the lady with the blown out tire on the shoulder some times but with the time constraints it makes it difficult especially when it could be a trap to steal the truck and cargo...etc. -
Back in '07 I was driving for Keen. As you cross PA there is a toll road that did not take ez pass. I was trying to sell my cb at the toll, to pay the toll, and a Landstar driver gave me the cash.(I only had my debit card) Anyway, I been trying to repay that act of kindness ever since... Good people make me want to be a good person too...

I sure hope the next person I help is not you! Why is it that someone always has to pull some sort of negative out of something? No wonder this world is in the shape it is!
But you know what! Even if you are the one on the side of the road, I will still stop and help because thats just the way I am! -
this weekend ,i'm doing my rest at the loves on I-45 exit 272..this stevens driver (8 weeks ot of trainning) almost hit my trailer backing in...I tryed talking to him on the cb (but he didnt have it on)..i jumped out of the truck to help guide him in...didnt need my trailer hit. got to talking with him , he got talked into the fleese deal(#### it man) 2400 a mth truck payment
but he had a trailer service line that was leaking bad, he bought a replacement an had a small set of tools
...so i doug into my bag of tricks showed hom how to change it ..temperay fix till he gets a new end put on the old line.....once again ,it didnt cost me anything but some time ...it broke u the bordum of sitting there...once again, thru all my years of construction as a superviser , part of my job was always teaching...if you dont teach them right..the only way they know of is the wrong way.....just something to think about

Dino, I think it is great what your doing. It's refreshing to see that we still have some drivers out there that are willing to help. Hopefully, these drivers will pay it forward and help others out. Maybe, just maybe trucking will be better in the future. Again, thanks for helping others out and coming here and sharing with us...

When my dad drove and my granddad it was an unwritten law that you stopped to help a fellow driver. I remmeber them stopping to help even though there was a line or trucks behind the broke down truck. I am with 007 on this. I hope you never need help. I would call you driver or hand but you don't deserve either title. I will say it and probly get banned but you are a sorry excuse for a human letalone a driver. You probly go thru the parking lot of the truckstop as fast as you can get going to.
drivers like you piss me off. You and your type are the reason this industriy is in the pooper.
for your information. there are shippers that will not allow you to tarp on their poperty it is not right but that is thier rules. so the driver has to do what he has to do to do his/her job.
I have been to several places that yes they wanted the load tarped but you had to pull off their poperty to do it this way if you get hurt they are not liable.
