I will, and I will continue to be happy and make money, instead of living in a pipe dream, and theory, and going broke. It is you who stated you were not making any money, but will not listen to the people who are, definition of a closed minded simpleton.
Good luck in finding a 40cents a mile job... I hope you find one. -
If i have 2 go thru their training. How long does it last? Do they pay while i'm training? Is it hard 2 get into their training program? Thanx 4 any advice.
-
If you dont have a CDL A yet you will have to go through school. Stevens school is 3 weeks, and you do not get paid during this school part. The school costs 5995.00 but they will finance it with no credit check and take 25.00 a week out of your paycheck. You also have the option to go to school elsewhere if you can afford it.
Then you have 10 weeks of training on the road with a trainer. You are paid 350.00 per week during this time. After that you are a solo driver paid by the mile.
Not hard to get into training as long as you have a clean background and good MVR and decent work history. -
Very well said Tlea, sometimes Im not as diplomatic as other folk.

Showing how not bright you are again.anything over an avg. of 58 miles an hr is compression.Stevens is not gonna allow you to run that w/out i.e.,putting you on probation for the first step. And then if you dont get the point, probable termination.Any driver on this fleet that tells me they ran more than 3400 miles in a week, well lets just say I know what they are full of.I can play Stevens game as well as anybody on this fleet. And I do,thats how Im successful.I can stretch my logbook legally, and stay out of compliance at the same time.I know all the ins and outs. And not once have I ran over 3500 miles in a week. Not possible with the way Stevens schedules freight and monitors compliance. And yes believe me Ive put PENCIL TO IT.So go blow your smoke somewhere else. The only way your gonna be able to run that many miles at Stevens in a month is to scorch the books and run illegal.Good luck to you and that DOT officer that decides to have a field day with you,LMAO.

Guys i jumped to otr 1 yr ago to build my experience i drove for 6 months local ag prior to that so far its been a nightmare.
The first company i worked for was a small otr company.pay was ok but i was given loads to run illegal and they showed me how to cheat my log book.i was like well i guess this is how it works...then equipment issues...i would tell my boss about example the broken windshield the top lights out the oil leak...and they would say will fix it when u come back but that never happenned because they already had a load booked and they said it was mine and had to be done...final straw...ac broke down on my way from el paso Tx and they said the same but i told him i wouldnt leave again if they didnt fix the ac and i got laid off...i got stopped at NM and CA for the issues mentioned above and even got red tagged in CA for the oil leak...would that be in my DAC report? So i left found a job at another local company otr also but they put me on a cabover 97 liner to be exact with a dead axle in the back at .21 cents a mile who uses old cabover for otr these days?anyway the breakdowns were terrible and so was the pay on to of that they told me that they dont run illegal at the interview but 70% of the time i did run illegal WTF?
Final chapter...so i left to another company that promised me great pay and good runs...and for two months they kept their word but now iv only done 1 load for the month of january and im in big trouble no income!!!
iv fallen behind on everything and he told me to look for another job cuz its really slowwww said hell give me good rep...i think iv tore up my work history and made no money i think ill go work at the local supermarket instead and probably at the mcdonadl's too i need to feed my family

I didn't say I'm not making any money. I said I was still in a hole three weeks after I returned back on the road after my 11 days off.
And also I said in a nutshell that the money Stevens charges for the lease and all consequent surcharges are outrageous. I'm paying them for the privilege of making them money. Because, let's not lie to ourselves, they are the only entity who makes real money. We're getting just scraps.
Thank you. I already did. No luck necessary.

Ok Mr. Knowitall.
Anything over 58mph is time compression - totally false. How long do you think I am driving like that? A week? Dude, I was driving this way since they bumped me up to 66 almost two years ago. If your puke was true, I'd be fired 8 times over. And yet, I didn't have one slightest problem with compliance ever. I'm not saying that I've never had time compression though. Last month I was there. I've had 5 time compression cases IN SIX MONTHS!!! Review before that? NONE!
You don't know jack ###### how to run legally or illegally.
Next time you put "YOUR PENCIL TO IT" make sure to have with you someone who knows WHAT THEY'RE DOING and help you with that. Obviously your feeble mind isn't able to comprehend the "complexity" of such high mathematics.
Or better, instead of a PENCIL, use your WHEEL AND ACCELERATOR.
No possible to run over 3500 miles in a week? - False? No. Total nonsense.
I can't even count how many times I ran very close to 4000 miles just in one 70 hr period! And I'm not even counting a week with restart.
either your DM is a total inept or they aren't giving you more miles because they know you won't be able to do it.
Maybe it's because you "play the Stevens game". If you played YOUR game and implement SOME Stevens rules, you'd be able to do more miles.
I was DOT'd two times. One level one, one level 3. I'm not afraid of being DOT'd. I've got everything in perfect order. -
Good for you, then go and start your new job.
So know you will be a company driver working for another overpaid CEO, who is just giving you his scraps... Your words towards stevens, and you will carry that attitude to your next job.
your jealousy is still showing, I make more than scraps. It takes me one trip after 10 days off every 6 to 7 weeks to be back in the black. It is called money management. I live within my means, not beyond them. I make real money, money that spends to buy me food, shelter, and the pursuit of happiness. I also have a very good major medical plan, with a Health Savings Account.
And yes I believe in personal responsibility, and I live it.Dryver Thanks this.
