    Appreciate the support.

No, it is not Swift's policy to make a new driver feel uncomfortable, malnourished and incompetent. I think that's the point of this thread...and TruckerDragon's thread. It is not common for these extreme situations to occur. But they occasionally do and they need to be handled quickly and decisively. In both cases, SWIFT handled the issue and each student was able to choose what he thought would be best for him. One student removed himself from a dangerous situation, the other acquired what was necessary and is making things more comfortable for himself. Each of these men did most of the work themselves, SWIFT picked up the slack...but only after each problem was made clearly evident to personnel within Swift who could actually do something.

New drivers often don't know where to turn. They are convinced there is no recourse for them because they feel at a terrible disadvantage. The mentor usually has an established relationship with the very person the student is told to contact if things go awry. It would be like telling the bully's best friend to ask the bully to back off. It seems so futile from the student's point of view. The point I keep trying to make is the student is not consigned to living in fear for his or her safety, let alone his or her job just because some truck driver with just a little more experience and a three-day class complete with a title is having a power trip. The point of all of this is maltreatment and inhuman conditions are not to be tolerated and can be changed by the student if and when he or she desires.

If this seems unbelievable or fabricated to some, well, I suppose that's okay, as long as they were entertained by someone else's pain.

One day youll wish you had help from someone and your thinkin might be different thats when youll wish that some of old timers were out here. as us old timers remember what truckin was and still try and distill that into the up and coming that hadent been able to see for themselves what truckin was really all about.and seems as though you havent as of yet.We used to all stick together and as for me id like to see them days again

tiger, I don't thnk it's an "altar worship", rather it is an appreciation or a respect for what Injun is willing to do to help out another driver. You'd have to admit that what she is doing is way beyond what the average driver would do for another driver (unfortunately). Would you agree? Likewise, nobody is saying that Blu or anyone else couldn't survive without her influence. Again, that is not the point.

    BTW, I don't think Blu is a "young-in".

Last post !!! I meant no ill will on the student (O/P..don't get that), Injun or anyone else on this board. Given the inclination of drivers to make #### up...A LOT (and PULEEZE don't tell me I don't KNOW of what I speak); I will depart this thread with hopes that you will bury me with full military honors? :biggrin_25513: Yeah...I know :biggrin_25516:

I am sitting in Memphis waiting for a load to be ready to go near Boston. I was surprised today my trainer actually took a shower and he seems to smell better.

The ride up here was hell as I told you before this guy farts constantly and always when I am driving. Smells so bad you can see me hanging my head out the window.

I drove exactly 11 hours yesterday and everything went smoothly. NO U turns no going down one ways just simple driving.

So as of today it's going OK. I will update soon when I get a chance. I am still hopeing for the next few weeks to be better.

Tapeworm, PainNdaNeck and Injun Thank this.
