Izza Meritor 10 speed wortha crap? It's in a 97 Shaker behind a Kitty. This isn't one of those input shaft breakers is it?
I read some static somewhere that the Range selector is electric and funky?

We have 4 '03 FL with the Meritor 10 speed and 435 hp C-15 with mileages anywhere from 525k to 870k. We haven't had any trouble with the tranny's at all. Interestingly enough, off the top of my head I can't remember if the Range selector is air or electric. I guess I haven't ever tried to shift ranges before the air builds up lol. Maybe someone else will chime in. I hope they are a good tranny, we've only had a little over a year of experience with the 4 we have.

The only problem I had with a Meritor is the synchronization, or sumthin' sorta funky, that often 'clipped' gears and at the end of the day your right hand ended up hurtin' a bit!! I NEVER had that problem with a Fuller 10-speed, only the Meritor. Ask any Crete driver,,,they'll tell ya!

what model # is the trans or the last 6 of your vin? meritor uses snap rings to hold their gears in place. i have seen the snap ring get pushed out of the gear by forcing trans into gear. then trans will stay in the gear.
