Last night at the Petro in Effingham,Ill,I witnessed,no,I was a part of some very "disgusting" trucker behavior.. Around 8pm,the lot was full due to the ice storm, and a team from SRT Refrigerated found themselves stuck at the fuel island due to icy conditions.. I heard this on the CB,and many,5-8 truckers, where whoppin it up laughin at em as they had no clue how to throw the iron on,trying to chain steer tires,etc... I was sick of the TS boredom,so I had previously one hr prior to this had taken 2 Tylenol PM"S.... Still,I through on my jeans and coat, walked a ways to the fuel island, and although falling asleep on my feet showed them how to put one chain on,and left for my truck after they assured me they could handle it from there.......When I got back to my truck 5 min later or so,I could still hear the sob's making fun of them on the cb as they were still havin trouble.... I got on the cb,threw insults at them for 10 minutes with regards to their not helping, and finally the Tylenol knocked me out..IMO,disgusting,selfish,LAZY trucking behavior at its very finest..(worst):biggrin_25513:

The new truck drivers today have no respect for their follow drivers. All they want to do is laugh & make fun. Yet when they want help, they will find that their so called buddies won't be able to because they don't know how.

i find it isnt the new truck drivers that are the worst ones for that--seems to be more the old guys---well guess they could be new drivers--but i kinda dont think so

Actually,I tried to repay an ol "debt". 5 years ago,I got caught in a storm on I-70 west of Denver, and I was fumbling with the iron as I had never done it before..:biggrin_2556: A "good ol boy" came over on his own to lend a hand, and when finished,I offered him some $$ for his help, and he said to me,"if you wanna pay me back, help someone else who needs it." I have NEVER forgotten his act of kindness......

How do you know that the driver's making fun of them were not veterans? A person can be a classless jerk whether they have been on the job 10 months or 10 years.

when i drove back in the day '77-'83 the drivers helped others that needed help, we didn't get on the cb & make fun, or stand around & laugh at them. if you're the one that helps out another driver, my hats off to you, if not, than the post was for you.
