Cat had some issues with some of the early SDP engines equipped with the wrong fuel return bypass valve. The fuel pressure was too low. May not be your problem but def. worth taking a peek at. The correct valve should start with a 3**-*** part number if I remember. I know it starts with a 3 though. I'll get you the correct number and post it. (The improper valve had part number beginning with 2 though if you wanna take a look at it until I get you the number)

Please reply..Yes occording to the door post it is a2007 cat engine.in a 2008 KW.so that would make it a early model. What upsets me is that I spent so much of my own time frustration to get it repaired. other than the fuel problem. 2008 KW...475hp c15 CAT 18 speed day cab differential interlock.44000.lb suspension.perfect truck for ilfield work. Thanks

I don't believe it is A FUEL RESTRICTION PROBLEM BECAUSE IT RUN'S FINE DURING REGEN.unless the heat from regen is thinning the fuel

The correct valve number sould be a 304-9385 rated at 100 psi.. Some of the engines had a 282-5091 valve installed that was rated at 82 psi. If anybody has experienced failed regens, poor fuel flow,or codes pertaining to low ARD head pilot pressure this could most likely be the culprit.

Thank you very much..it is a thirty dollar part. I'll buy it myself. If it fixes the problem I will turn in the reciept.

I bought the valve and gave it to the mechanic I believe he will install it today. I'll find out tommorrow how it runs. Because it only does it on 30 second full throttle or more in top gears

Did your engine originally have the weaker check valve installed?
-
Realy don't know. But yesterday it broke the rocker arm stud and it died.I stopped by Holtom Cat and the said that it had nothing to do with the check valve.Cat rocker studs shou8ld be on recall....... anyway it ran great for a week..Not stupid great . It ran likeit was supposed too..The service manager said we didi the correct thng. The flleet of C 15 CAT'S we own have had several rocker arm studs break. And yes I did tell the service manager that I had our mechanic put the 304-0904 or something valve in it.
-
not sure..But I did tell the service manager at cat what I did. I think while they had it in there they replaced the hand fuel pump also.Like I said before it runs just like it's sister truck. which runs fine.
