From what I see in the video the Blow-by is not excessive. Good- luck and enjoy your truck.

I have a 04 KW with a C-15 cat. It is the twin turbo. I have a lot of blowby thru the crankcase tube. A very good Cat mechanic told me the newer Cat's have a lot of crankcase oil pressure and the oil will turn into a mist and some of that mist will exit thru the blowby tube.

I thought he was blowing smoke up my .... Anyway I started reading about this and found out he is exactly correct. The newer C-15 do have a lot of oil pressure and Cat even makes a blowby filter to attach to the tube to collect some of this excess oil.

Eventhough it looks like a lot coming out it is in a mist and there really isn't that much coming out. My truck will use a couple gallons of Rotella between oil changes. I switched to Mobil and it will use 1 gallon every 15,000 miles. If I go over 15,000 it will start using more. So I am very cautious to change mine on time. If I idle a lot like I'm doing now in the winter I change it closer to 12,000.

I wasn't a fan of Cat engines before this one. It does use more diesel than a Detriot or Cummins but I have had very little issues with it. It is very cold natured though.

Thats blow by is nothing. I drove and internation with a DT530 and my current truck with a 60 series that has 700k. You would think the truck is on fire there is so much coming out from under the truck.
