I used to drive with CR England and those Taunton,MA to MD,VA,NC runs I ABSOLUTELY LOVED. I ate that up but the DM I had got on my last nerve always calling me asking where I was at. He got on my last nerve can't remember the fleet number k4 maybe. But if you get it you can make some money good luck to ya. I completed two lease agreements and I made that truck work!!!!

I don't live too far from Taunton. I'm thinking about CRE. A recruiter told me there is no regional work for my area however. Was your run regional? Do you think I can get your run?

Is it just me? or am I seeing a copycat repeat post? Or perhaps the quotes tool should have been used?

on 12-11-2010 I was involved in a multi car and truck accident in IA on I40, the trouper said it was one of the worst blizzards in the 24 years he has been on the force. and it had come outta nowhere, the radar had said light snow furies. the roads were fine and there was power snow just off the shoulder in the grass. the wind would kick up a bit but would stop I had cut my speed back to around 50. the wind blew again this time blowing the snow across the road I got off the fuel and it passed. a few miles went by and the road was still ok. then I herd on the cb that the road was backed up. then someone else said the road was shut down. there was no one in front of me but i started to slow anyways i was down to about 45 when the wind blew and the powder snow was all in the air causing a white out, I got on the breaks harder but traffic was stopped right in front of me. there was sombudy on the shoulder already so I was going to go to the left but a big truck was right there going in to the ditch. I bumped the back of an suv and a big truck. i was trying to lessen the blow for the suv. they ended up driving home and were ok. a mini van rear ended me on the right corner then a big truck hit it then me. a car hit me on the left in the door. and moor accidents behind us.
the trouper did not give me a ticket or fault me for the accident. he said it was a freak storm and it's no ones fault.
CR England disqualified me as a driver and said it was a dot preventable accident.
I was going to have my second seat run the truck for me to Finnish out the lease, but horizon would not let me do that. my second seat was finished with training and did not want to lease a truck herself. horizon said I could take myself to another carrier but the only ones that have met their criteria so far was swift and prime. ( the company has to take out your truck payment and variable milage out and sent it to england and they have to have a mantance account so you can get your trucked fixed) the thing is....if you have a major accident that your company says is preventable (rear end, top trailer, role over) in the last 12 months no major carrier will hire you.

if England wanted to let me go cas of policy that's fine but they should of let me run the truck as a business, they have people that are not drivers and run multiple trucks.

I was always profitable and not in the red, my dm and his supervisor went to bat for me but was not enough.

And you were always the one of reason when it came to them on this board. This blows my mind. Maybe they do find reasons to get rid of experienced drivers.

I hate that for carrot top. He really seemed like he enjoyed what he was doing. He always acted proffesional, and had alot of knowledge to share. Best of luck carrot top even in your post you have handled it with class and dignity. Stay that way it will pay off much sooner than later.

I really did enjoy working for CR England. I don't have anything bad to say I always kept an open mind and gave it my best.

the one thing is I will never understand how a group of safety managers can get together and rule an accident as preventable when they were not there to see any of it. and a state trouper of 24 years that was there, says it was not my fault.
I asked the safety managers...who rear ends someone and doesn't get a ticket or faulted for the accident unless it is truly unpreventable ? they said the police do that all the time.

all well, nothing I do will change anything that happened. I'm just glad there were no serious injuries that were caused by me.

but I did end up getting on at a smaller company (100 trucks) and I'll be home to see the family more. it's an otr company that gets their drivers home every week to a week and a half. and pays .48 cpm for teams. layover pay, paid lumpers, scales, tolls, o and my fave.....if your on a layover they pay for a hotel:biggrin_25525:

Hey Carrot top sorry to hear about what happened i was hoping by some fluke that i would end up training with you at england. Is there any method to the madness of getting assigned a trainer?

not really, it's just luck of the draw.

but, do not hesitate to call the tc if you don't get along with the trainer or they have too Manny bad habits.

good luck to you, just keep a positive out look
