I used to run it about 5 months ago. Basically, eastern regional means all states east of the Mississippi River at Werner. Sometimes though you can be sent to Minnesota and the Dakotas. You will spend a lot of time in the midwest in Illinois, Indiana, etc. When I was on it the miles were about 2500 per week. You stay out on the road for a minimum of 3 weeks and are home for 3 days.
All in all, it was easy. I didn't like the 3 weeks out by force thing, but I can understand why they do it. Most of your loads will be about 200 to 450 miles, more towards the 300 miles. One thing you must get used to is the feeling of getting rushed. Because of the short length of the trips you will get you will be doing a lot of deliver in the morning, go get a load, deliver in the afternoon, and then maybe get another load. No day is ever less than 13 hours on regional, you will use almost all of your available 14 in a day. Its not the type of account for the person who just likes a long haul. -
thats fine im not the type that stops much so more loads i can do the better

Eastern regional, aka drivers choice. Everything east of Omaha, NE. I just came of it a month ago to do teams. The miles are about what he said. Money is not bad.

How long does it take you to get a Regional or dedicated run once you done with your 6-8 week training?
-
it all depends on the needs of the company at the time... try to get something set up before hand through your recruiter.
another note, they are always looking for family dollar and dollar general drivers. it isnt easy, but if your fit and dont mind running your 14 every day they will get you home every weekend and youll bank over a grand every week. -
From what I've seen its luck of the draw depending on whats available after your training. Regional is pretty much a given for solos because they don't like sending solos on 48 because its harder to make money. I was on the eastern regional after my training. It wasn't bad except for the min 3 weeks out. I would always stay out 4 just to get the 4 days off. I mostly ran from new jersey to TN to IL to WI and back to NJ was a pretty good deal after I got established.vmaggs Thanks this.
