222 is a failure in the ambient air pressure sensor circuit. When this sensor fails the ECM will derate your power output by 15%.

I thought I would update the status on this problem should anyone have this problem in the future. Truck is in the shop now. The people here seem to be pretty knowledable on the n-14. First this is a 435 hp engine. The 222 code was weird because the 435 engine does not have an ambient air pressure sensor (222 code). The reason it throws the code is because a previous owner jacked the engine up to 460 hp which does require the sensor. By throwing this code it derated the hp by 15% which ended up giving the engine 391 hp, lol jacked the hp up and lost power.
Also turns out it is throwing a 121 code which may or may not be causing the shut down issue. As I type a driver is going 1 1/2 hour away to get an engine position sensor. I will report back on how that goes. Crossing my fingers. -
engine position sensor was the culprit. installed an ambient air sensor also. truck is running better now than it has since i"ve owned it.
shriner75, bullhaulerswife and larry2903 Thank this. -
