Hello all,
In case your wondering what the title means, it means I am here to soak up all the information that I can. I have recently become a fleet manager for a smallish type company. We deal in building materials mostly and as such are using mostly medium - heavy duty type trucks. (Freightliner M2 class for referance)
Now I must say that I have no real experiance managing a fleet LOL! However I was in the drivers seat for many years, as well as I have put in alot of hours operating all kinds of heavy equipment. So I know what they get put through on a day to day basis. For the last few years my duties have mostly been managing all the equipment expenses, and tracking every repair job and every PM service as well. I have at least 4 years worth of data now and I have a very good overview of where we are sitting. Well we need new trucks LOL!
So I am on the hunt to look at every kind of truck on the market, my goal being to make a very well informed decision when it comes time to buy. Anyways that is what lead me here! I did a serch for Maxxforce engine reviews and this is where I ended up LOL!
Well I look forward to all the information I can get, I hope everyone is staying safe out there. Good luck in all your future endevours, and thanks for your time.
I am a sponge

Welcome aboard. Glad you joined us. You could start a new thread on that engine in the trucks 18 wheelers section, if you want. You can also add polls to your posts. Hope you find the information you need to make an informed decision. And please feel free to add your .02 on other subjects that you are knowledgeable about.

Welcome, lots of folks here to help with information.
On the Maxxforce idea. I have a buddy that works for Ideallease as a mechanic. His opinion after working on some of them and every other engine is to stay away from the Maxxforce right now. Heard about the same thing from every other mechanic I've read about or spoken to.
Try and stick to a Cummins, Detroit (not so sure about the DD15), or even some of the last CAT motors to come out. I've heard good things about the Paccar MX engines. I've driven Freightshakers with the MBE4000, didn't care for them, couldn't get good mileage out of them and the repairs were astronomical. -
Hasn't ever stopped any other dispatcher or FM..
