I hope for you and your family's sake that he can get home every weekend. Although it may be near impossible beings that he is new to the industry. Stay clear of Werner for sure! Getting started, they will keep away from home for months if he lets them!

It does take a special kind of woman to be a truckers wife, especially one who's truck driving man is gone for long periods of time, and it isn't for everyone. Hubby and I use to drive teams together and even with experience we were kept out for several weeks at a time. Of course that is often how team driving works anyway, and we were hauling expedited freight. We later started having children, and there went my truck driving career. We now have four kids that have adjusted (as good as to be expected) to daddy being gone for a week at a time. It is manageable, you just gotta cherish the time when he is home. ~Rebels Angel~

Well, WSE has a free school down in Florida under their "CTL" company right? That probably won't help now but the company COmcar owns several co's and wse ccc ctl are big in Florida-cant remember the city though -you know-where the "school" is . . .I know that ctl is in Mulberry Florida . . .might call or whatever

If you plan on being in it long term, best advice from me to you, is to finance your own truck...and eventually get your own trailer and authority, and be totally in control over where you go and when you work and how much money you make...

And that may mean finding a starter company, toughing it out as long as it takes to make a down payment on your own truck...

In the end, in this industry, if you want the freedom of old, your going to have to get your own authority and work for yourself, or go with a company that allows you to pick your own loads and work when you want...dispatcher free...(you'll need your own truck for this)

    Like Landstar or similuar companies...
