Bluebonn...I saw all the oil, my truck was the volvo right behind yours. What a frickin mess! Hey, the fleet managers name here is Orlando, he should be able to find you a ride to houston tomorrow. If I end up going that way . I'll take ya myself. Just don't have a preplan just yet. Good luck tomorrow.
No food! No water or bathroom and expected to stay in truck

What's wrong with Volvos? What's so great about Junkstars?
-
Haha that was you behind me!! How funny!! That goes to show that if you do not do your pre trip you never know what the mechanics may find. I will be in the drivers lounge most of the day tomorrow if you do get a load through Houston.
I will be wearing the hook em horns white hat. -
Good deal bluebon! You have the right temperment of a good driver. If you can deal with that trainer, you can deal with anything.
-
I just like the way they look. Nothing else -
I can't believe I read this whole thing last night.

I thought I'd post an outsiders perspective for anyone interested.
When the dirty dog (Mentor) rolled up at the house & bailed,
I was on his (bluebonn's) side.
That lasted until the "36 hours" he spent calling to get his meds, more or less.
I ain't a bad-### or anything but after 3 or 4 hours of being blown off, I woulda FOUND A WAY to get the meds instead of posting about how I was waiting to die.
This line of thought took me back to where there was "nothing in walking distance". So I started wondering, what is walking distance?
It's a podunk town, right?
And a reference was made to "neighbors" so it isn't the boondocks, right?
So what is "walking distance"?
2 or 3 miles?
2 or 3 miles is too far to go take a leak or grab a snickers but it's WELL WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE to tap on the door & state my intentions.
If it's further than that I'd have been at the front desk asking about a taxi.
No taxi's?
Call a cop, unless you wanna wait until later & call an ambulance.
It kind of goes on like that.
It might have been different if it was a rookie right out of diapers,
but this is a grown-### man...
coupla years OTR...
Pilots license.
By the end, it was just demoralizing.
The gent might have been better served IMO with advice & a cheering section rather than a Saviour...
You know, give a man a fish...
No offense intended, just my perspective which would have probably been quite different if I would have got in at the beginning.
Happy Trails
bobobrazil Thanks this. -
A hook em horns white hat....should be easy to spot in Texas!

A truck that looks pretty doesnt mean it makes more money.
Fright shaker, volvo, ken, western or pete dont mater to me as long as its clean ,safe, maintained plated(taged) and has all the right paper work/permits Ill put it down the road.
to many people fall for the crap of a pete is a money maker it doesnt make anymore cpm then any other truck. but nothing beats the ride of a pete or ken -
Unless you get a high rise Star they have no storage. My 670 Volvo has a smaller bunk. Gobs of storage. Rides good. Better than a T2000 shorter turning radius too.

So...apparently you were not asked to rate this mentor? Of if you were, you gave him atta-boys just to be rid of him?
Nothing anyone can do if that's the case. Swift can't correct problems they don't know about.
