welcome to the forum & thank you for your service. My 3 step-sons were in the navy. The oldest also was a (CPO) on an EL-CAT, i think thats how its pronounced, its one of those hover craft ships. The middle son just put in 4 yrs & got out, the youngest was a sonar tech on an attack sub. When you start your new adventure, be safe.

CPO: Check with the VA for training. You may be elegible for free training and a stipend during training. I went that route, got a "free" course and $800 a month while in school.
22 year wing wiper myself. Welcome to the trucking biz, squid
. Heck if we GI's didn't heckle each other, we wouldn't have any fun!
navyguy Thanks this. -
Here's the course at Chatt State. It's 7.5 weeks. Much better training than you get at these 3 week puppy mills.

Like a house, everything is good as the foundation it's built on.
Like Palazon said, search out VA possibilities. I know Chatt State has a technical skills grant for truck driving.
Edit; Here, I found it

Hmmm, looking at that it looks like they moved the training to Cleveland, TN. I use to see the trucks up here at the Dayton Campus.Last edited: Feb 11, 2011
